Leigh Orpheus Male Voice Choir

Reputedly one of the largest male voice choirs in the UK with about 50 members in total. Many of our performances are fund-raisers for local charities.

Based near Southend on Sea in Essex, Leigh Orpheus is a friendly choir aiming to bring the joy of singing as a performer to men in the area. We also aim to bring the joy of listening to as many people as possible. We perform concerts locally and further afield and each year go on tour, sometimes in the UK and sometimes abroad. The choir has enjoyed successful concerts at the Cliffs Pavilion with A

lfie Boe, Lee Mead, and The Kings' Singers. In January 2016 we performed at The Cliffs with three other male voice choirs. If you are interested in singing with us by all means come along and see if you like what you hear and would consider joining us – there is no obligation. We rehearse on Friday evenings from 7:30 at the Salvation Army Temple, London Rd, Hadleigh. Or come and see us in concert.

It's never too late to fall in love (with our Leigh Orpheus music!). Show songs; traditional male voice choir pieces; pop classics. They are all included in the programme for our concert on Saturday. Based on the theme of 'love' and with audience members receiving a free red rose!

Thanks to our lovely audience, Cantare and Leigh Orpheus choir members, and guest soloist Ewan Dunlop for an excellent concert at The King John School. A lovely evening. And thanks to generous donations we raised just over £500 for HARP, Southend's homeless charity. No one should be homeless at Christmas.

Christmas is a time when no one should be homeless. Which is why we're supporting HARP, the Southend homlessness charity. This Sunday we'll be singing in the Victoria Centre, Southend, Please drop by and maybe join in the singing. And perhaps drop a few coins in our collection buckets?

The 'Music of the World' Concert tomorrow, Saturday 18th October in the The Ballroom of the Park Inn by Radisson Palace Hotel Southend. A host of amazing musicians, all giving their time and their talents completely free, with the Leigh Orpheus starting the show at 6.30 pm,

Tickets are £25 each. And there's a raffle with some amazing high-value prizes.
