Over the weekend, Fairhill Rise and rhe Colquhoun Research Centre hosted a Weaving Colour Workshop led by Eta Ingham Lawrie.
Textiles practitioners from Ruskin Mill Trust provisions came together for a long weekend of weaving, conversations, and thoughtful attention to place and material.
Working with wool and natural fibres the focus was on noticing and creatively responding to the colours and moods already present in the landscape.
There was a real sense of warmth and generosity throughout; learning through doing, exchanging skills and knowledge, and taking time to observe how colour, texture and rhythm emerge through experience.
Many thanks to Eta and to everyone who took part. The weavings created will now find their into Ruskin Mill provisions across the country, carrying something of this shared experience with them.
