Lodge Thistle, No. 127

The Brethren of Lodge Thistle 127 collectively donated a car boot load of items, including tea, coffee, biscuits, sugar, paper plates, cups, to the Ayrshire Dementia Cafes to help them continue their great work of providing places across Ayrshire for people to meet and chat. This collection was gratefully received by the volunteers, and we discussed arranging for the coordinator to give a talk at the lodge at some point this year.

Care in the Community – Redefining Masculinity in Boys

The Scottish Masonic Charitable Foundation of Western Australia (SMCF) is proud to support organisations making a real difference in our communities - one such organisation being Man Up WA. Through mentoring, education, and practical support, Man Up WA is helping young men across Western Australia build resilience, confidence, respect, and emotional strength, while tackling issues such as isolation, poor mental health, and the lack of positive role models in their community.

SMCF is initially supporting the Man Up WA workshops in Geraldton and the Mid-West region of WA, where boys and young men often have limited access to preventative education and support services. By delivering small-group, peer-led workshops in schools and community settings, Man Up WA creates safe and relatable environments where important conversations around mental health, masculinity and respectful relationships can genuinely take place. This approach is targeted to create safer, healthier, and more connected communities for future generations.

Pictured are Daniel Law, President of Man Up WA receiving a cheque for $13,000 from George Buchan, SMCF Chairman.

Linlithgowshire Masonic Golfers

A few of the top golfers in the Linlithgowshire Masonic Golf Association had the pleasure of presenting Bro Tam Colligan with £200 towards his daughter Lucy’s efforts to raise funds for Brain haemorrhage research. I’m sure this will go a long way in helping support this great cause.

Lodge Gorebridge Dundas, No. 1039.

Another week and another cheque presentation.
RWM Alistair this afternoon meet with Fiona White of the Birkenside children’s fun day committee to present a cheque for £500 as a donation to the annual fun day.

Fiona has been part of the organising committee for some years and was delighted to receive the donation of behalf of Lodge Gorebridge Dundas 1039.

The fun day allows local children to enjoy food, ice cream and various fun activities all for free. This donation along with others from the community helps to raise the £7k plus costs it takes to organise each year.

Another well worth local donation!!

On Friday the 22nd of May Lodge Tower 1523 had the great pleasure of hosting Lodge Kajaki 1848who conferred the Mark degree on 2 candidates.

An excellent night of freemasonry further cementing the bonds of friendship between the 2 lodges.

I would like to thank all our visitors for attending the lodge as we finished for recess with a special mention to Alex Craib who travelled from Dingwall.

After the meeting I had the pleasure of donating lodge Tower’s monthly donation of £200 to RWM Bro. Billy McPheat of Lodge Kajaki 1848 for the Mark Wright Memorial Fund.
