Taking action to help protect the sea! We believe that with any small action everybody can make a difference. We are a group of sailors, surfers, swimmers and divers - lovers of our wonderful oceans sickened by the increasing amount of pollution in the sea. Our oceans and coastline are clogged with plastic that is killing wildlife, getting into our food chain and our water supplies. We are working to reverse the impact of decades of overconsumption of ill-informed humans, thoughtlessly allowing plastic to pollute our oceans. UP TO 12.7 MILLION TONNES OF PLASTIC WASTE ENTERS THE OCEAN EVERY YEAR - damaging our oceans and harming wildlife. REFUSE | COLLECT | RECORD | RECYCLE | RE-USE

From the sea to the sorting table! 🌊♻️

Our Summer Isles of Scilly Sailing Clean Up Mission has wrapped up, and now we need your help to make sense of it all. Join us for a Counting & Sorting Workshop to catalog the marine plastic we’ve collected.

But we don’t just count—we create! We will be separating materials to be repurposed and recycled by our incredible partners: Plastic Recycling | One Blue Eye , Adam James-Collins, Ecotribo.com, Dan Lewis and Odyssey Innovation | Pioneers of circular solutions.

Together, we’re turning collected waste into:
🛶 Kayaks
🪴 Plant pots
💍 Jewellery
…art and much more!

Every piece you help sort is one step closer to a cleaner ocean and a more circular economy. 🐢💙

📍 Where: The Tent at Gweek Village Stores

🚗 Parking Note: Please park by the Gweek Seal Sanctuary and walk over to the Gweek Village Stores & Farm Shop . This helps keep the village access clear.

🚨 FINAL HOURS: Help us keep Old Annie sailing! 🚨

We are in the last day of our crowdfunding campaign to secure match funding and keep our mothership seaworthy for future missions!

Our recent three-week expedition to the Isles of Scilly onboard Old Annie (our 118-year-old sailing vessel) was nothing short of wild. We wrestled nets and ropes stuck under boulders and buried in sand, picked up individual microplastic with patient dedication of our volunteers, collected dozens of broken crab pots, car tires, hundreds of bottles wrappers and other plastics accumulated over the time and tide, sailed through solar eclipse, glowing bioluminescent rain… We removed over ONE TONNE of marine plastic from nine islands.

But we can’t do it without you.

🌍 Let’s clean up, Cornwall! 🌊

This World Cleanup Day, we are teaming up to give back to our beautiful local environment, and we need your help!

Join us for an afternoon of community action, fresh air, and a delicious reward at the end.

Here are all the details:
📅 Date: Sunday, 20th September
📍 Location: Bears Den Campsite, Perranuthnoe
🧹 Cleanup: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM
🍕 Pizza & Social: 3:30 PM onwards

To say a massive thank you for your hard work, is kindly providing free pizzas for all volunteers!

What to bring: Waterbottle. Your favorite drink to enjoy during the social. Sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.
We will provide the cleanup gear, but feel free to bring your own reusable gloves if you prefer!

Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole afternoon, every pair of hands makes a difference.

Let’s protect our stunning Cornish coast and countryside together!

Massive thanks to the awesome team Giant Helston for repairing our beloved Giant UK & Eire e-bike - it’s done nearly 3000 miles , hauling trailer loads of beach found trash off our local beaches , can’t believe we havnt killed it after 5 years of very hard work ! Super tough it is 💪 thanks so much to Steve and team for the essential repairs today 🙏

Crazy Scilly weather! 🤯

We set sail for our beach clean-up mission in the Isles of Scilly and mother nature decided to give us the ultimate welcome package.

In just a few weeks, we’ve experienced:
☀️ Glorious, blazing sunshine
🌧️ Intense monsoon showers
🌌 Glowing bioluminescent raindrops
🌑 Sun eclipse
💨 Massively wild winds—and yes, even a TORNADO! 🌪️

Through the wild weather, our crew has been working hard to clear marine plastic and protect these incredible islands.

Organising a continuous, heavy-duty ocean cleanup means managing a rotating team of hard-working volunteers. Thanks to the Steamship Company, keeping our volunteer rota moving smoothly has been a breeze. They have stepped up to help transport our dedicated crew members to and from the islands, ensuring we always have fresh hands on deck to battle the plastic tide!

🌊 MISSION ACCOMPLISHED ON SAMSON ISLAND!

🌊Our amazing crew just tackled a massive cleanup on the beautiful, wild island of Samson in the Isles of Scilly!

While this island looks like paradise, ocean currents constantly wash up hidden dangers. Our team worked tirelessly to collect heaps of small plastic pollution that threatens local wildlife.

We even managed to haul away a massive “snake” of abandoned mooring line that was deeply embedded and stuck on the shoreline. It took serious muscle, but it is finally hauled on Annie and will be properly disposed!🏝️

Did you know? Samson has been completely empty of residents since 1855 when the community was evacuated due to extreme hardship. You can still see the haunting ruins of old stone cottages scattered across the hills. Today, it is a vital, undisturbed breeding ground for rare seabirds and seals. Well looked after by Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust
