Join the Calstock Parish Local History Group on Saturday 29th October for a talk about the development of some of our villages. Local historian Jill Lane will introduce With a View not to be Surpassed, her new book about Drakewalls, St Ann’s Chapel and Albaston, recently published by the Calstock Parish Archive. Much of the development of the area was for the workers at the mines and quarries flourishing in the second half of the nineteenth century. There was great distress when the mines and quarries closed at the turn of the century, but shops and businesses carried on. MEET AT the Methodist Church at Albaston at 7.30pm. All Welcome. Members £1.50 Visitors £3
