University of Surrey Model United Nations Society University of Surrey Model United Nations Society is for every student who wants to practice their diplomatic, negotiation and debating skills so join us!

Model United Nations (MUN) is, as the name suggests a mini version of the real United Nations wherein people role-play as delegates of the United Nations and simulate UN committees. It's a fun way to not only try and tackle problems on a global scale but to also improve skills like public speaking and critical thinking. Being a student initiative, MUN conferences have been hosted in universities a

round the world and now it's Surrey's turn to jump on board! As a society we will be organising trips to several MUN conferences in and around the U.K. as well as offering training sessions to those who are interested. Also, we will be organising the first ever MUN conference, here at Surrey! Membership is free, so if you think this is something for you, please join the group and invite your friends!

Hey guys!
I’m Akshaya, MUNSoc President for this year. I’m a second year student studying Law with International Relations, and I hope that every move I make is taking me closer to being a diplomat in the UN someday!
I’ve been to quite a few MUNs and I hope I can tailor that experience into Surrey achieving greater heights in the UK MUN circuit this year!
Other than MUNs, I love pets, books and people (in that order), and I just like striking a conversation with anyone. So whether you’re in the MUNSoc or otherwise, if you spot me in the corridor, feel free to stop me and have a chat with me about anything!
