Thank you for visiting us yesterday; we hope that you had a good time. We were surprised by the large number of visitors, which resulted in much longer queues than usual and caused us to run out of cake half way through the afternoon. We suspect that the record-breaking attendance was due to a number of factors; the dry weather, a posting on a third party social media page, and it being the first open day this year.
We closed the railways a little later than advertised to accommodate everyone who wanted a ride. We'll have some discussion about whether we can find a way of reducing the waiting time without adversely affecting our visitors in other ways.
