We are delighted to announce the following appointments to the county team:
Graham Mountain - Is appointed to the role of Surrey County Adventure Lead. This role has overall accountability for overseeing the activity permit scheme, the nights away scheme, and for managing the clubs and societies that promote and deliver adventurous activities across the county. This role is a member of the Programme senior leadership team.
Paul Iverson - Is appointed to the role of 4-14 Programme Lead. I know you will all recognise his considerable experience at county level including many years as ACC Scouts / Scouts Lead and his calm and organised chairing style. In this role he manages the County leads for Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts - promoting adoption of our progressive programme and join-up between the sections.
Denise Iverson - has agreed to move over to Squirrels Lead. She will kick-start our county-level provision for this vital section. She has spent many years leading the Beaver section and I am delighted that she is up for the challenge of establishing something new.
Rowenna Woodward - Is appointed to County Beaver Lead, picking up where Denise left off and bringing some fresh thinking and direction to this section
Steve Valiant - Is already in post and will continue his excellent work as the County Cubs Lead. I'm sure will be excited to have a broader team around him.
Max Harvey - Is appointed to County Scouts Lead. This is our flagship section, and a vital connection point into the 14-24 team. Again - I know Max is looking forward to bringing fresh thinking and energy to this section.
Thanks to the other members of the Programme Senior Team for all they do:
Andrew Carvell - Our 14-24 Programme Lead, who leads the programme for explorers, network, our young leader scheme and our Duke of Edinburgh provision.
James Turner and Kerry Edwards - who jointly lead our International team, overseeing visits abroad, international events, and international training.
Please join is in congratulating them and thanking them for taking on these significant new responsibilities. This is the first time since forming the Programme team that all leadership roles have been filled and we are delighted to be moving forwards with such strength.
Malcolm McKee
County Programme Lead
