Bat evening in Kingston Cemetery
Member and local bat expert, Alison Fure, will introduce us to some of Kingston’s bat life. You get to use bat detectors. Bring friends, grandchildren et al. Wear suitable clothing and footwear, and bring a torch. Possible drink in a pub afterwards.

Balsam bashing in Six Acre Meadow
Light work controlling Himalayan Balsam, a shallow-rooted invasive species. Session will end around 1:00 p.m.
Wear thick trousers. Bring thick gardening gloves, preferably gauntlets. Bring drinks. Secateurs are useful.
Cafes for optional lunch at end of session. (If you are late, we are likely to be working by the path in Southwood Local Nature Reserve, 'downstream' of the squirrel sculpture and 'upstream' of the A3.)

Surbiton Festival
With live music, lots of family friendly activities, great food and drink. Surbiton Festival is a fantastic community event. Surbiton is easily accessible by Bus & Train and the fun starts as soon as you step out of the station at the Station forecourt or off the bus at Claremont Gardens or St Andrews Road.
Kingston Ramblers will be on stall 100 in St Andrews Road at the Surbiton Festival and helpers are required - please contact Brenda to volunteer for just an hour chatting to passers-by.

Linear Walk from Hanwell Station to Richmond

Overview
Follow the River Brent for a short while before arriving on the Grand Union Canal at the Hanwell Flight of Six Locks. The surface and terrain is entirely on paving, tarmac or gravel. Some of the surface is very uneven and there are some short and fairly steep ascents along the Grand Union Canal. We will follow the Canal to Brentford and then walk through Syon Park to Old Isleworth. There is a stepped footbridge over the Thames at Richmond Lock and the walk finishes at The White Swan, Richmond.

The Lunch Stop will be at Brentford Lock. Please bring a packed Lunch. Drinks and toilets are available at the nearby Holiday Inn.
