This week we’re running LAUNCH at Surrey Enterprise Hub, our invitation-only programme for student entrepreneurs who have completed IGNITE and ACCELERATE.

Before you launch your business, there’s one step you can’t skip: validation.

Swipe to learn how to validate your idea without spending money. Inside Launch, you’ll explore this in depth through practical workshops led by Vincenzo Roberti, serial entrepreneur and Entrepreneur-in-Residence, who brings direct experience from building and exiting multiple ventures.

Today marked the first workshop of the IGNITE – January 2026 cohort, and it was a full house!

Students explored how to turn early ideas into viable opportunities through design thinking, challenging assumptions and learning to think more creatively and critically.

✨ Student story: Eniola Olajide
BSc Business Management with Entrepreneurship and Innovation

Eniola joined IGNITE last year to explore how the ideas he was learning at university could be applied in the real world.

Through practical sessions and hands-on worksheets, IGNITE helped him move beyond theory, shaping his business idea into something that is not only commercially viable, but driven by a bigger and clearer purpose.

IGNITE is designed to support students at the early stages of their journey, giving them the tools, confidence and space to develop ideas that matter.

If you’re curious about turning ideas into action, IGNITE is still open for applications and will start next week on Wednesday, 21 January 2026.

You know the Surrey Enterprise Hub is doing something right when students turn up to our workshops with their suitcases…!!

Meet Elizaveta Andrushkevich student from the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) who is currently studying MSc Computer Vision, Robotics and Machine Learning.

She is the perfect example of entrepreneurial dedication: attending a workshop before catching a flight. ✈️👏

🔥 IGNITE October 2025 has just finished!

Over the past five weeks, students explored what it truly takes to turn an idea into a business, from design thinking and creative problem-solving to rapid prototyping, storytelling, and pitching with confidence. 💡✨

We’re thrilled that over 40 students joined this round. Our biggest yet! 🙌

More than a learning experience, IGNITE challenges students to take the first leap…to show up, experiment, and discover that readiness often comes after action.

If you couldn’t make it this time, save the date:

You don’t need to have a business or even an idea. You just need to bring your curiosity to explore entrepreneurship. 🌟
