Weybridge Lodge was honoured last night to welcome the Provincial Grand Master, RW Bro Nick Burger, accompanied by a full es**rt, for what became a truly unforgettable meeting.

We had the privilege of initiating Mr Steve Bradley and Mr Tony Robertson in what can only be described as one of the finest ceremonies the lodge has delivered in recent years. With 49 brethren filling the temple, the atmosphere was absolutely perfect for welcoming two new brothers into the Weybridge family. They were expertly conducted by Bro Will Burrell, who delivered a superb performance as JD.

The evening also saw the presentation of Grand Lodge Certificates to Bro Will Burrell and Bro Calvin Gower presented by our VO, W Bro John Mitchell.

Afterwards, the festive board was alive with laughter, conversation, and genuine fellowship. The Entered Apprentice Song, sung by the WM, set the tone beautifully before what was likely the largest Initiates’ Chain in the lodge’s history—encircling the entire dining room and delivered with style by W Bro Richard Smith.

It was an evening that will stay with us for a long time—reminiscent of the great lodge nights of years gone by.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the lodge.

Good afternoon brethren, Please find details for the infamous Weybridge Lodge Christmas Meeting on Wednesday 10th December at 5pm.

The meeting will be a rare double initiation of two brothers joining together, so if you are newly initiated or a long time Mason, do come along.

The Festive Board will comprise of 3 courses (plus cheese, biscuits and port courtesy of the WM).

We will have the toast to the initiate, initiate song and initiate chain plus carols and general frivolous festive fun.

The only requirement - bring a ridiculously silly Christmas hat to wear (or £5 fine to charity).

We had 50 at our last meeting and would like to end the year with a bang, so come along, we hope to see there. Book online at weybridgelodge.org.uk/dining or email [email protected] 👍🤶🎄

For the Fallen By Laurence Binyon

With proud thanksgiving, a mother for her children,
England mourns for her dead across the sea.
Flesh of her flesh they were, spirit of her spirit,
Fallen in the cause of the free.

Solemn the drums thrill; Death august and royal
Sings sorrow up into immortal spheres,
There is music in the midst of desolation
And a glory that shines upon our tears.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young,
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted;
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

But where our desires are and our hopes profound,
Felt as a well-spring that is hidden from sight,
To the innermost heart of their own land they are known
As the stars are known to the Night;

As the stars that shall be bright when we are dust,
Moving in marches upon the heavenly plain;
As the stars that are starry in the time of our darkness,
To the end, to the end, they remain.

Weybridge Lodge celebrated one of its greatest Installation Meetings last night with about 50 in attendance for the meeting.

The new WM W Bro. Julien Tidmarsh felt extremely honoured to have so many in attendance and was installed into the chair of King Solomon by W Bro. Murray GrubbJnr and W Bro. Ben Connolly (his proposer).

The ritual given by all members was superb, which demonstrates what a great well-knit team Weybridge Lodge has

A new joining member, Simon Stamper was also welcomed into the fold.

We had a fantastic Festive Board with the Master’s Song performed by Bro. Asher Baker.

To top it all off, the Travelling Gavel was claimed by W Bro. Ben Dickson, master of Castle Lodge for the sum of £260.

If any Surrey Lodge are looking to gain the Kudos of being custodians of the Travelling Gavel, come and claim it from Castle Lodge in Farnham on Friday 9th November where Bro. Greg Bickell will be installed as Master.

As a Freemason you never stop learning and Solomon is an online tool developed by UGLE to facilitate this. Whether you are looking to learn something new about Freemasonry, refresh old knowledge or simply fill in the gaps, it has everything you need.

The Solomon Academy Diploma is a fun and informative way to consolidate this knowledge. It offers short study courses in the four key stages of your Masonic journey; Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, Master Mason and Companion.

Each course can take a little as little as a few hours to complete, after which you gain a certificate. Complete all four and you are issued with your diploma.

So if you have some spare time on your hands, give it a go.

A busy few weeks for our Master Elect, who has recently been initiated into both Holy Royal Arch and Mark Masons.

He has joined two fantastic lodges, Castle Keep Chapter 6446 and Percy Mark Master Masons 114.

The journey in Freemasonry is lifelong and now being part of Craft, Chapter and Mark, many more avenues of discovery await.
