Every young person has a story, and recovery rarely happens overnight.

Summer came to us after a mental health crisis, feeling frightened, isolated, and unable to see a way forward. Through consistent support, partnership with other professionals, and simply taking the time to listen, she began to rebuild trust, access the help she needed, and take steps towards feeling safe again.

Swipe to see how her journey unfolded.

Amelia’s story highlights the importance of patience, consistency, and meeting young people where they are, especially when trust feels out of reach. Through gentle, steady engagement, we support the gradual rebuilding of connection, confidence, and a sense of safety.

We are so pleased to see Amelia making progress as she re-engages with school, strengthens her support networks, and begins to look ahead with growing hope.

10 years. Thousands of lives. Countless moments of hope. πŸ’œ

Over the past decade, we've had the privilege of walking alongside young people during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

Together, we've:
πŸ’œ Supported more than 5,000 young people
🀝 Delivered over 17,500 support sessions
🌟 Been powered by 162 incredible volunteers
πŸ‘₯ Built a team of 70 staff, past and present

Behind every number is a young person who felt heard, a family who found hope, and a volunteer or staff member who chose to show up with compassion.

To everyone who has volunteered, donated, partnered with us, prayed for us, or championed our work - thank you. You have helped make these 10 years possible.

Here's to the next chapter, and to reaching even more young people when they need support most. πŸ’œ

It is a privilege to walk alongside young people like Alyssa during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. Through compassionate, flexible, and creative support, we help create space for healing, self-discovery, and growth at a pace that feels safe and right for them.

We are incredibly proud of the strength and progress shown, as young people begin to recognise their own worth, build confidence in seeking support, and move forward with greater hope and resilience.

πŸŽ‰ Happy Birthday, Emerge Scotland! πŸ₯³πŸ΄σ §σ ’󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Last week marked the official beginning of a brand new chapter as Emerge is now a registered Scottish charity!

This is something we've been working towards as we replicate the Emerge model beyond England and Wales, making it possible for even more young people to access compassionate, non-clinical mental health support when they need it most.

We're incredibly excited about what lies ahead. We believe every young person deserves someone to listen, encourage and walk alongside them during a mental health crisis - and now we're one step closer to seeing that happen in hospitals and communities across Scotland.

Here's to new partnerships, new projects, and many more young lives supported in the years to come.

Welcome to the family, Emerge Scotland. πŸ’™

By offering consistent, compassionate, and holistic support during a period of acute distress, we help young people feel less isolated and more emotionally supported. Through a balance of emotional regulation work, practical strategies, and positive relational connections, we aim to bring a sense of stability and hope during difficult times.

This approach supports young people to build resilience, develop self-advocacy skills, and reconnect with their own sense of agency, enabling meaningful progress in recovery and longer-term wellbeing.

By building a safe, consistent, and relational approach, we are able to engage young people even in moments of crisis and distress. Using trust, attunement, and appropriate humour, we support them to reconnect, reflect on their emotions, and develop a stronger sense of self-worth and emotional understanding.

This approach highlights the importance of meeting young people where they are, reducing barriers to engagement, and providing continuity of care that supports recovery, educational re-engagement, and longer-term emotional wellbeing.
