☀️🏕️ Summer might still be here… but behind the scenes, we’re already getting ready for an AMAZING winter term! ❄️🎉

While everyone else is enjoying the sunshine ☀️😎, our fantastic leaders and volunteers are already hard at work! 💪👏

📅 Planning meetings
📝 Organising exciting activities and visits
🏕️ Getting programmes ready
🧹 Tidying, sorting and preparing the Scout Hut
🎯 And making sure we’re all set for another brilliant term of Scouting!

There’s lots happening behind the scenes to make sure our young people have a fun, exciting and memorable winter term! 🤩🔥

Help us secure the future of West Grimsby Scouts! 🏕️🔍

We are reaching out to the Grimsby community for help solving a bit of local history that is key to the future of our Scout Group.
We are currently planning some much-needed upgrades to our Scout Hut! However, to apply for planning permission, we need to officially update the paperwork on our lease. The lease is currently held in the names of three gentlemen who were instrumental in the group's history:

🔹 J. W. Wintringham
🔹 J. Ellis
🔹 G. Howden

Given the age of the original lease, it is likely that these gentlemen have sadly passed away. We are urgently trying to find any surviving family members or descendants who might be able to help us sign the lease over to the current custodians.
This simple administrative step is the missing puzzle piece we need to unlock the hut upgrades for the next generation of local Scouts.

📣🌟 EXCITING NEWS FROM WEST GRIMSBY SCOUT GROUP! 🌟📣

We’ve got some fantastic news to share! 🎉⚜️

Over the past few months, we’ve been working hard to welcome more young people into West Grimsby Scouts than ever, and we’re delighted to see new faces joining our sections! 🥳

We know many families have been waiting patiently on our waiting lists, so it’s brilliant to now be able to offer places as they become available. 💚

🐿️ SQUIRRELS | Ages 4–6
📅 Mondays, 5:45–6:45pm
✨ Spaces available!

🦫 BEAVERS | Ages 6–8
📅 Thursday evenings
✨ Spaces available!

🐺 CUBS | Ages 8–10½
📅 Tuesdays, 7:00–8:30pm
✨ Spaces available!

Our sections are all about fun, friendships, adventures and learning — giving young people opportunities to try new things, build confidence and make memories that last a lifetime! 🌳🏕️🔥🎨🧭

And we’re not just looking for young people… we’re also looking for more adult team members! 🙌
No previous Scouting experience is needed — full training and support is provided. All you need is a willingness to have fun and help young people grow! 💜

How cool is this?! The large Poacher International Jamboree Banner had all the groups attending written on it! We found West Grimsby Scout Group - Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs & Scouts!!

The theme of Poacher International Jamboree 2026 was Adventures Around the World for the Adventure of a Lifetime and I think these guys managed to do that!

40 young people, 8 Leaders and 5 Leaders volunteering as staff across 5 different Grimsby Scouts groups, West Grimsby Scout Group - Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs & Scouts 2nd Immingham Scout Group 11th Grimsby Scouts 1st Keelby Scout Group 19th Grimsby Scout Group and we all certainly had the adventure of a lifetime!

Thank you to everyone who made it happen, it really was a group effort throughout the week and lots of memories and friends were made!

4 years to rest then we do it all again 😃

🎉 We’re all set for our AGM this Sunday! 🎉

After the meeting, we’ll be firing up the BBQ with plenty of burgers, lots of fun and games, and we’ll also be holding our Tombola draw!
