🎉 **A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!** 🎉

West Grimsby Scout Group would like to congratulate Ricky, our Group Lead Volunteer (GLV), and Katie, one of our trustees, on receiving their **Chief Scout’s 5 Year Service Award!** 🏅👏

The awards were presented by Dave, our District Lead Volunteer, in recognition of their five years of dedication and commitment to Scouting. ⚜️

Thank you both for the time, effort and enthusiasm you give to our group. Volunteers like you make such a difference to our young people and help make West Grimsby Scout Group the fantastic community it is today. 💜💙

Here's to many more years of adventure, fun and making memories together! 🏕️

☕💚 A HUGE THANK YOU FROM WEST GRIMSBY SCOUT GROUP! 💚☕

What an amazing morning! 🥰

A massive thank you to everyone who came along to support our Macmillan Coffee Morning, and to everyone who helped organise, set up, bake, donate and make the event such a success! 💚

Together, we raised an incredible £355 for Macmillan Cancer Support! 🎉👏 Every penny makes a difference, and we’re so grateful for everyone’s generosity and support.

Thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the raffle and tombola.

It was fantastic to see such an amazing turnout, with lots of smiles, laughter and fun throughout the morning. Most importantly, it was wonderful to see West Grimsby Scouts and our local community coming together for such a brilliant cause. 💚☕️

Events like these remind us how special our community is, and we’re so proud to be part of it!

Thank you once again to everyone who attended and helped make the morning so memorable. We can’t wait to bring everyone together again for many more community events soon! 💚⚜️

Did you know that West Grimsby Scouts is the oldest Scout group in town—and one of the original 1908 pioneer groups in the entire UK and the world? 🏕️

Back in the spring of 1908, just as Robert Baden-Powell’s Scouting for Boys first hit the newsagents, a handful of local lads met up on Abbey Road with wooden staves, tracking notebooks, and a thirst for outdoor adventure.

That grassroots patrol grew to become the 3rd Grimsby, later earning royal civic pride as "The Mayor’s Own".
Over a century later, that unbroken 1908 lineage lives on right here at West Grimsby (3rd & 8th). Out of roughly 7,000 Scout groups across the UK today, fewer than 30 hold a spot on the national roll of original 1908 Pioneer Troops—and our town is home to one of them.

Our tents, climbing gear, and kit might be a lot more modern than canvas and trek carts, but the mission hasn't changed in 118 years: giving local young people real skills for life, resilience, and unforgettable adventures.

🧭 Be part of the story: Whether you're looking for a section place for your child (Squirrels through to Scouts) or fancy lending a hand as a volunteer leader, there’s always a place around our campfire.

Drop us a message or visit www.westgrimsby.org.uk to get involved!

Thank you to all the sections who donated to Lindsey Hall Care Home for their harvest festival donation.

🌟 **A HUGE THANK YOU TO OUR AMAZING SUPPORTERS!** 🌟

We’ve been incredibly lucky to receive **not one, but TWO fantastic donations** recently to support the young people of **West Grimsby Scout Group**! 💙💜🤍

🔥 **Co-op Funeralcare – £150 Donation** 🔥
A massive thank you to **Co-op Funeralcare** for their generous **£150 donation**, which will be used towards **new camping cooking equipment** for our young people. 🏕️🍳

This equipment will help our Scouts develop practical skills, build confidence and, of course, enjoy some great meals around the campfire! 🔥🥘

🛍️ **Primark – £50 of Camping Essentials** 🛍️
We were also delighted to be nominated to receive **£50 worth of goods from Primark**! This has allowed us to pick up some really useful items including **gloves, hats and water bottles** – all of which will be put to great use by our young people during activities and camping adventures. 🧤🧢💧

A huge **THANK YOU** to everyone who supported our nominations and to both organisations for helping us provide even more opportunities and experiences for our Scouts.

Your support really does make a difference to **West Grimsby Scout Group** and the young people we support. ❤️

🎉🐿️🎂 HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY, SQUIRRELS! 🎂🐿️🎉

Today, 9 September 2026, marks an amazing milestone — 5 years of Squirrels! 🥳🎈🎊

On 9 September 2021, Squirrels officially launched across the UK, welcoming 4 and 5-year-olds into the Scouts family for the very first time. 🐿️🇬🇧💚

🎉🐿️ Our Drey at West Grimsby was officially launched on 25 July 2022, and we've loved watching our Squirrels grow, learn, explore and have fun ever since! 💚🌳✨

And what an incredible 5 years it has been for Squirrels! 🤩👏

From making new friends 🤝💚 and discovering the great outdoors 🌳🍃, to getting creative 🎨🖍️, trying new things 🔎✨, earning badges 🏅 and building skills for life 🌟 — our Squirrels have been busy!

🌟🎉 2026 is a VERY special year for Scouts! 🎉🌟

It's the Triple Birthday Year 🎂🎂🎂, celebrating:

🐿️ 5 years of Squirrels
🦫 40 years of Beavers
🌿 110 years of Cubs

That's a LOT of birthdays to celebrate! 🥳🎉🎈🎂

So today, let's give a HUGE birthday shout-out to every Squirrel, every Squirrel Leader, every volunteer, and every parent and carer who has helped make the last five years so special. 💚👏🙌

Your support helps our young people try new things, make memories, have adventures and develop skills for life. 🌟🏕️🧭🌳

Here's to 5 years of adventures, laughter, friendship, fun and skills for life! 🏕️🌳🧭🔥🎨🤩

🐿️💚 HAPPY 5TH BIRTHDAY, SQUIRRELS! 💚🐿️🎂🎉
