On Wednesday 5th August 2026 we will be contributing to the Environment Day activities in the Duke of York Gardens with a display on the history of West Marsh (11am-3pm).

The display will include photographs, documents and artefacts relating to the West Marsh area of Grimsby. Visitors will have a chance to see items relating to the Duke of York Gardens, Grimsby & District Hospital and Peter Dixon’s papermill. The exhibition will also examine the history of some of the area’s cinemas and schools.

19th Grimsby (St Hugh's) Scout Group which is 96 years old is desperately short of leaders. Especially the Scout Section, If you can help in any way please contact me - Chris Plant. I am unsure how long I can personally keep going as now on list for a hip replacement.

Team "Mike" are go at the Fells Marathon. Best of luck to the GYC Explorers who have worked hard in the run up to this event on navigation, menu planning and kit gathering. Let's hope they haven't forgotten anything and are holding the map the right way up!🧭
