What a fantastic night for Saint James with the RW PGM and his team. A flawless second degree tracing board piece delivered by Bro Steven Jeffreys. We had some valuable Masonic nuggets delivered by some of our brethren and the RW PGM presenting Bro Hayden Thomas with his grand lodge certificate.

Mick Boulton and Andy Downes, Charity Steward and Treasurer of Haven Lodge of MMM No. 1732 respectively, recently visited the home of the creator and organiser of the charity 'Bob's Brainwaves' to present a donation cheque for £300.
They were warmly welcomed by Chris Suich, the wife of the person whom the charity is named after along with Fay Gorwood, who is the widow of a Mason and an active member of the team of volunteers who provide aid for the charity.

Bob’s Brainwaves supply packs of valuable information and support for those with early diagnosis of memory loss associated with dementia.

A very worthwhile cause - well done to the members of Haven Lodge.

Did you know that women can be freemasons? Did you also know that there are in fact two separate Grand Lodges for women, both of which have been around for over 100 years?

For this year's International Women's Day, we're highlighting a member of what was the Honourable Fraternity of Ancient Freemasons (HFAF), now known as Freemasonry for Women.

Taken from an edition of the organisation's magazine 'The Ray' from the 1930's, Edith Elliott was a member of Ionic Lodge, No. 5 and is pictured in her Craft regalia, including apron, collar and gauntlet cuffs. She's wearing the jewel of the Inner Guard (despite what the caption suggests!) and you can also spot her Royal Arch Companion's jewel on the collar.

You can find out more about the history of women's freemasonry on our blog >> https://museumfreemasonry.org.uk/blog/learn-about-freemasonry-women-and-freemasonry

Scunthorpe Freemason Nick Fell is inviting Freemasons, their families and friends to get together once a month for an informal evening meal in a friendly atmosphere .
The first gathering will be on Thursday March 21st at the Queensway pub in Scunthorpe. (DN16 2AG), starting at 6pm. Nick, a member of the Lodge of St John, said: "Following on from the success of the coffee mornings at Scunthorpe, I am looking to set up something very similar to what other centres in our Province, as was as other Provinces, are doing. In short it will be an evening meal once a month for brethren of the Craft, their friends and family members.
If interested people could please let me know numbers I can then book the required number of tables. There is no set meal or anything. People can just order off the normal menu on the night. The Queensway normally has a discounted meal on various days though like Curry Fridays, and people can order what they prefer. If we get enough people going I might be able to arrange a bit of a discount with the pub but I cannot promise anything!"
• If you're interested, drop Nick an email as soon as possible to [email protected]
