Bookworms held their meeting at the allotment today. Our book of the month was The Women by Kirsten Hannah. An excellent read, lots of interesting disscussion and scored an average of 9 out of 10. The chocolate chip cheesecake went down very well too.

Thinking of donating?

Here's a quick guide before you pop into one of our shops. πŸ’œ

Every donation to our charity shops helps us raise vital funds to support those affected by domestic abuse and we can't thank our supporters enough for their generosity.

There are a few items, however, we're unable to accept.

This includes things such as gas bottles, microwaves, computers, car seats, realistic toy weapons, sharp knives, furniture without the correct fire safety labels and children's safety equipment. These restrictions are in place for legal, safety and practical reasons.

If you're not sure whether something can be donated, please don't guess. We'd much rather answer a quick question than have you make a wasted journey.

Just give one of our friendly shop teams a call:

Thank you for thinking of us and for helping keep our shops safe, welcoming and full of wonderful finds for our customers. Every suitable donation really does make a difference. πŸ’œ

It’s almost time πŸ‘€

If you’ve visited our gardens over the last few days, you may have spotted some of the first sculptures being installed in preparation for this year’s Sculpture at Doddington exhibition.

With just under two weeks to go, there are still plenty more surprises to be unveiled…

Sculpture 2026 will run from 25 July - 6 September. Open daily from 10am-4pm, with entry included in garden admission.
