🌍🐋World Ocean Day

Our beavers have been thinking about ocean creatures🐋🐬🐟🐡🦈 and how important it is that they be protected and how the plastic that makes its way into the sea affects them🤑

To mark some of them last week made beautiful colourful coral wreaths to take home as a reminder.

The beavers were also tasked to use their imaginations 🤔to make up actions for different sea creatures and as always they didnt disappoint and we all including adult volunteers had great fun being puffer fish, jelly fish, orcas, sharks and turtles 😂 😂

👀If you are looking for a fun way to volunteer supporting young people beavers could definitely be for you. We promise you don't have to make jellyfish actions or orca noises unless you want to 😂

😁Beavers giving bouldering a go

It can be hard waiting patiently for your turn to make delicious 🤣 So our waiting beaver scouts worked up an appetite by challenging themselves to get from A to B around the traverse cube at Cherry Garth Scout Campsite

It's a fun activity but also focuses on building a wide range of physical and mental skills, builds confidence, a different approach to problem solving, determination, agility, coordination, and basic climbing techniques.

Well done beavers👏

💙Our great team of adult volunteers and young leaders play a vital part during activities in giving encouragement, recognising every effort and giving those hi fives that mean so much to beavers. To cooking s'mores is simply a joyful, gooey, chocolatey scouting experience. 😁But we know its so much more than that😜.

On our recent visit to Cherry Garth Scout Campsite the beaver scouts worked together in the woods to collect the wood🗿 to make the fire🔥, learnt about fire safety, showed patience waiting for the embers⌛️ and gave those marshmallows their full attention 👀 to make sure they were cooked to perfection. All that before before they were able to enjoy the delicious fruits of their labour😍.

⚜️As volunteers its so great to witness these small steps and key moments of independence. It reminds us what scouting is about.

⚜️Scouting builds confidence

Choosing to share details of your favourite 🔹️subject, 🔹️hobby or 🔹️prize collection in front of an audience of fellow can be daunting😐 But our cubs who took that big step did so well 👏and our audience were so attentive and respectful🤩

We were treated to such a wide variety of interesting subjects from 📖books to 🔹️gemstones and 🐩miniature figures, from 🏍motorbikes and 🏃‍♀️‍➡️running to 🎤theatre and 🎸music. What a great evening.

🌍Celebrating Earth Day 🌍

The after considering how the could make a difference decided that this week they wanted to plant trees🌳 and make hedgehog houses🏠 and they did a great job. The have helped today by making sure the fruit trees are very well watered. Great job beavers

Our Scouts, cubs and beavers and adult volunteers have had a jam packed term of fun, imagination, creativity, pancakes, hikes and cooking. It's time to enjoy some chocolatey treats 😋 before the adventures begin again next term

🍫Easter Chocolatey Creativity🍫

The cubs and beavers had a great time at Lab Cocoa Workshop creating their very own easter eggs. What a great way to end the term. Their imagination was boundless and the results were nothing short of brilliant 👏 We started with two halves of a chocolate egg and saw monsters, TV characters, super heroes and villians come to life as chocolatey egg treats 😋

Thank you to Tracy and the team for two lovely sessions and for your encouragement to let their creative minds run wild

Scouting is all about offering opportunities to try new things with friends and this time with a chocolatey treat at the end I think all our young members agreed it was 'win win' 🤎💙💚

🥾Beavers Torch Walk🥾
On Wednesday it was the turn of the to put on their boots and rucksacks and head out on a torch walk adventure trying a little map reading along the way. A brief stop off for snacks and parachute games and we were back on our way.

If you were in Scartho and saw us or more likely heard us 🤣 us give us a thumbs up👍

Its lovely to see the beavers enjoying their adventures with lots of smiles and chatter and even better to hear 'Can we do it again?'

Cubs, Scouts and Beavers at 5th Grimsby - Scartho - Scout Group have all been out and about this week.

OnTuesday night set off maps in hand, boots on feet and torches at the ready to complete a countryside hike of 2.7miles. Very muddy under foot 🥾 but a beautiful sunset, stargazing and the pleasure of counting bats along the trail 🦇 added to the excitement of being out and about. As the cubs returned the section (not pictured as it was very dark) set off for their own night hike adventure🌛

⚜Everyday is an adventure day for young people and adults in scouting⚜
