Today's Pick Walk is the Freshney Valley.

This area has recently had some of the reeds cut back, which has cleared the river but also loosened some litter.

Myself and Ellie took a little time to clear it up, along with the ongoing work of the rest of the Freshney Comrades who also help down here.

We just missed the rain, hurray!

The 🍆 Tunnel

We visited this area last year and took a 13 mile walk along the coast. We needed to top it this year but I've had too many burgers recently so we instead opted to check out the surrounding woods instead and check if people had been keeping it tidy.

Spoiler alert. They didn't.

The unique sights of Whitby.

No litterpicking here today, just a browse at some of the shops looking for unique and old tat. I definitely found a few but nothing to take home this time.

We instead got this labrador figure from a charity shop that is the splitting image of Ellie pup who loves to steal slippers.

The wellbeing trail at Dalby Forest!

We picked the quiet and less tourist part of this wood for our walk today, the wellbeing trail! It was nice and peaceful and we only saw a single person. This suited us perfectly! 😂

Really appreciated the signs from Forestry England and Sport England for the trail. Our friend The Canoe River Cleaner would love them too.

We gave back to nature and did a litterpick as we went round. We even found an old 90s Morrisons crisp packet! 😲

Litterpicked a country lane, was astonished at how much I found but also very pleased that people stopped to give thanks, help and drinks 🥰

I wish people would stop spoiling the countryside for the rest of us, we are trying to enjoy it.
