Good luck to everyone running the Grimsby 10k today! To the amazing eight people from CARE running to raise money, thank you! The rest of the team will be there cheering you on 💖🫶

If you can spare any money to sponsor the CARE team runners, we’d really appreciate it.

This funding will go towards our crisis support work, including emergency food bags for people facing desperate circumstances.

To donate click on the link below, thank you 🙏

Every day, people come to CARE with nothing. We're running a 10K to make sure we can keep the food bags coming. Will you help?

We are honoured to share that His Majesty The King will be visiting the CARE Hub in Great Grimsby on Thursday.

The CARE Hub is a free community drop-in centre which opened its doors in January 2026. The hub creates a safe environment where residents can come for a conversation whilst also providing practical support to those experiencing issues with housing, mental health, debt, domestic abuse and other crisis situations.

The visit forms part of His Majesty's visit to Grimsby and has been arranged through Our Future, bringing together local organisations, businesses and residents helping to shape the future of the town.

We look forward to welcoming His Majesty!

It’s the Orsted Great Grimsby 10K this Sunday and we’re lacing up our trainers to raise funds to provide food bags for local people in need.

Each food bag provides essentials to sustain someone for four days, helping them through immediate crisis.

We’d love your support with donations, so we can keep supporting our local community. Please pay what you can at our Just Giving page via the link https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/runningforfood2026 to boost our team of runners and sustain those who need our help. Thank You.

Come down to enjoy the atmosphere and cheer us on from 9am at Grimsby Town Hall – or catch us red-faced at the finish line at People’s Park sometime later!

The next phase of building works is progressing well at the CARE Hub in Grimsby.

The first floor is going on, and the stairwell is being built - and work is moving on well with the building project at the back of Victoria Street.

This will give us much needed space to expand our work and support more people.

Our Volunteer of the Month for May is Marilyn.

Marilyn started dedicating her spare time to CARE in its infancy - around 30 years ago - whilst still in part time work. She was a supporter for the CARE Rent Scheme, attending to clients’ homes in the evenings as a befriender, before moving on to spend some time on the reception at Hainton Avenue.

Around 25 years ago she chose to move into volunteering at The CARE Shop, where she has been with us on a weekly basis ever since. She started volunteering with our founder David Robinson, and now volunteers with the shop manager Sam.

Thank you, Marilyn - for an incredible 30 years of kindness, care, friendliness and dedication!

We’re very excited that refurbishment of the Pier Gardens in Cleethorpes is under way.

The project - close to our charity shop - will feature a water play, terraced play area, an event space and a quieter area. It’s part of a wider £18.4m regeneration scheme designed to bring the local community together and provide a beautiful space that people want to spend time in.

While the works are going on and access to the shop might be limited, our van driver Damien is working extra hard to bring your generous donations from your homes to the shop.

We offer this as a free collection service. Please call the shop to book your slot.

At The CARE Hub in Grimsby, we help people every day in mental health crisis struggling with complex challenges.

From that first cup of tea can come a first conversation, and a feeling of being heard, seen, and valued.

We know that taking small actions can help people coming through our doors to feel more positive and hopeful, and our Crisis Support Team works intensively to make sure each person receives the support they need.

Please join us in taking action to support good mental health during Mental Health Awareness Week this week – and every week.
