🌱 Got an idea that could make a difference in the East Marsh?

The East Marsh Community Roots Fund is now open for applications!

💡 Whether you want to improve your neighbourhood, support wellbeing, create opportunities or help the environment, funding is available to turn your idea into reality.

✅ Grants available from £500 to £10,000
✅ Open to anyone living or based in the East Marsh
✅ Projects must involve at least 2 people

This fund is all about community-led change - you bring the ideas, and the community helps decide what gets funded.

📅 Applications have officially opened as of June 16.

Together, we can create real change for the East Marsh.

We are extending our appeal for our followers to donate to an incredibly worthy cause.

Last month, our friend and tenant Clare sadly lost her battle with cancer, leaving seven children without their mum.

The EMU team have launched a fundraiser to help the family with day-to-day costs during such an incredibly tough time.

18 HOMES... and counting! 🏠🥰

The EMU team are thrilled to announce that we have now officially acquired our 18th home as ethical landlords, bringing us one step closer to our '100 homes for 100 years' vision.

Situated on Rutland Street, the house will now be taken completely back to brick and transformed by Gaz and his team at Expert Renovations into a modern and safe forever home ready to welcome a local family.

Our Community-Led Housing Manager, Paula Graves, commented: "I am really delighted to announce we are now on our eighteenth home and counting. What we are doing isn't just about bricks and mortar for us - every key we turn represents another family safe, another property transformed, and a tangible shift toward a bright, community-led future.

"We are changing lives and proving that real regeneration starts right here with the people who care about the East Marsh the most."

Below are just a few photos of the house as it is currently - highlighting the issues faced by many East Marsh residents, including unfit living conditions and mould, problems that are only exacerbated by the larger issue of rogue and absent landlords.

We want to change this. And it's safe to say we've made a pretty good start. ❤

An amazing update to bring you... 🥰

We're already well over the £1,000 mark since launching our fundraiser to help the family of our tenant Clare, who sadly lost her battle with cancer last month.

This will make such a massive difference to Clare's devoted husband Mark and their seven children.

A touching tribute in Grimsby Live for our friend and tenant Clare, who sadly passed away recently following a brave battle with cancer.

She leaves behind seven children, a devoted husband and so many family, friends and neighbours who loved her.

The EMU team have launched a fundraiser to help Clare's family with funeral and day-to-day living costs during this incredibly difficult time.

We have launched a fundraiser in memory of one of our beloved tenants, Clare, who has sadly passed away following a brave battle with cancer.

Clare leaves behind seven children, a devoted husband and many friends, family and neighbours who loved her.

Known for her kind and selfless nature and beautiful smile, Clare will be so very missed by the EMU team and the community.

Any donations, big or small, will enable Clare’s husband Mark to give her the send off she deserves and help the family with day-to-day living costs.
