EMU is delighted to be supporting the Humber Coastal 10K & Half Marathon again this year. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

We had a fabulous time last year, and thanks to your incredibly kind donations, we were able to take a full coach of East Marsh families to the pantomime at Grimsby Auditorium just before Christmas. 🎭✨

We’d absolutely love to make that happen again this year! 🙌

EMU will be supporting the event alongside Bridge McFarland, our charity partner, on Sunday 20th September.

Some of our East Marsh families will also be taking part in the Family Run/Walk, including Sue and Pat! 💪❤️

If you’re coming along, please come and say hello, show your support and help us cheer everyone on! It’s always a fantastic family day, with so many people benefiting from the amazing charities involved.

What a fantastic event our Community Roots Fund Market Place was...🌱

Last Thursday, EMU's base at 84 Wellington Street was buzzing as local residents came together for our Community Roots Fund Market Place - and what a brilliant turnout we had.

It was wonderful to see so many people getting involved, meeting local project leaders, sharing ideas and, most importantly, having their say about the projects they’d like to see receive funding in our community. 💚

Our Community Roots Fund Seedlings Mentor, Holly, summed up the day perfectly:

"The Market Place Voting Event didn’t just meet expectations - it soared past them and was an incredible success. It was truly heartwarming to see our community come together in such a supportive way. I’m genuinely proud to be part of such a proactive and dynamic team that brings projects such as Community Roots to life.”

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came along, voted, supported the stallholders, shared their ideas and helped make the event such a success. 👏

And of course, a massive thank you to all the brilliant people who put their time, passion and energy into developing ideas for the East Marsh.

This is what community is all about - local people having a voice and helping shape what happens next. 💚

Less than a week to go until this comes to Grimsby…

One year. One estate. Where childhood meets reality.

Three girls are turning sixteen.
They’re looking forward to new clothes from the market, a full wage packet on Friday, and Going Out.
They don’t know it yet, but their world is about to change.
As the miners’ strike begins, families take sides. Friendships are tested. And three young women begin to find their voices.
Set in Thatcher’s Britain, this is a coming-of-age story about working-class teenage girls and women fighting back and rewriting the rules.
The story takes place 1984 but it’s themes speak directly to modern Britain.
Presented as a working-class storytelling performance by three actors.
