⚜️🏕Adventure Never Stops.

Whilst most regular weekly section meetings have paused for the Summer break the adventures certainly have not😁

🙋Amongst this crowd at the epic opening ceremony for Poacher International Jamboree are over 100 of our Scouts, Explorer Scouts and fantastic adult volunteers from Groups across the District. They join 10,000 participants from Scouting and Guiding communities, many from countries across the world. And today is Day 3 of a week-long camp of non stop high octane fun, adventure and learning new skills. When the sun goes down it doesn't stop there either as the festival vibes take over with shows and entertainment to suit everyone😍.

The official theme is 'A World Adventure of a Lifetime'🌎

And it really is. We know for certain our young people will be fully embracing the theme, taking every opportunity not only for adventure but to meet new people and forge international friendships. Its what Jamborees are all about💚

👉A huge shout out to Lincolnshire Scouts, Girlguiding Lincolnshire North and Girlguiding Lincolnshire South who organise this epic event taking place every 4 years.

👉A massive thank you to out Group and Unit leaders for providing the opportunity for our young people to be able to take part in the adventure of a lifetime.

⭐️And to our intrepid and go getting and enjoy every minute⭐️

⚜️🏆Scouts compete for the much coveted Golden Peg in a Race Across Cleethorpes⚜️🏆

We couldnt have a focus on the without a mention of the 17 teams from Scout troops across the District who earlier this month took part in the most recent in a series of much loved competitions to win the

The 'Race Across Cleethorpes' challenge offered a great chance for Scouts to , work together and make strategic decisions. 🤔With tolls to pay on their chosen routes should they spend precious minutes🕔 completing challenges to replenish the cash or race on🏃‍♂️‍➡️ and risk running out of money or time before the finish? ⏳️ Think Race Across the World, but with a much smaller budget and no passports required but just as intense! 🌍😂

And the results
🏆Golden Peg winners were 1st New Waltham - Grimsby - Squirrel, Beaver, Cub and Scout Group

Silver Peg - 1st Healing Scout Group

Bronze Peg - 11th Grimsby Scouts

👏👏Congratulations to winners and runners up and to every Scout who took part.

📣Shout out to volunteer Kate Brown and the rest of the volunteer team involved. Another great scouting event in the Golden Peg series. Can't wait to see what you come up with next😁

⚜️Scouts from 4th Cleethorpes Scout Group outdoors on the tomahawk range🪓 at Cherry Garth Scout Campsite

Tomahawk throwing combines outdoor adventure with critical developmental skills. Mastering the mechanics of throwing a tomahawk into a wooden target takes hand eye co-ordination, follow-through, discipline, and patience delivering a great sense of achievement

Looks like a few of the Scouts were well on target👏👏

🔹️Being able to access a range of outdoor activities is key to being able to offer the Scouts a balanced programme.

🙋‍♀️Some our local groups including 4th Cleethorpes are in need of volunteers to support the Scouts. If you enjoy the outdoors, learning or sharing new skills and could help regularly or occasionally we would love to hear from you. Message or email [email protected]

An opportunity to share what scouting members have been up to this month in the great outdoors

Cubs from 1st Cleethorpes Sea Scout Group were outdoors taking full advantage of being so close to Cleethorpes Sea Front and sandpit on their sleepover a couple of weeks ago. What a great way to chill during a busy sleepover.
