Please join us for the first Faraway Adult Autism Forum (AAF) on Tuesday 11th August, from 18:00 to 19:30. This hybrid event has been scheduled on an evening to enable people who work to be able to attend and will be held both in-person at 2 Alexandra Road, Grimsby, DN31 1RW and online via Microsoft Teams. Faraway AAF provides an opportunity for our adult autistic community to engage in meaningful discussion. Our focus will be on the challenges faced by autistic individuals in North East Lincolnshire. The insights gained will be shared at the North East Lincolnshire Autism Board meeting, aiming to foster impactful changes that support our community. We sincerely welcome your involvement - your voice and lived experience are vital in driving positive transformation.

We need your help!

What?: Please come and help us design a ‘What Is Autism?’ Discussion Group that will provide information about what it means to be Autistic and what’s the lived experience of Autistic people.

Who is the group for?: People who are awaiting a diagnostic assessment; people who’ve recently been diagnosed; people who know they are Autistic (self-diagnosed); and for family, partners and friends who want to learn more about Autism so they can support their Autistic relative, partner or friend.

Maximum participants: 15 (in person), 20 (remotely via teams)

When: Starts next Tuesday 7th July at 3.30pm-5pm, then every Tuesday thereafter for a total of six weeks, with the last one on Tuesday 11th August. You don’t have to come to every session, but it would be great if you could commit to at least four out of the six sessions as places are limited and we want to get as much feedback and input as possible from people for this Peer-Led Group.

Where?: Quest Training Rooms, Heritage House, Fisherman’s Wharf, Grimsby, DN31 1SY. Parking is available on-site. Please note this is a Council Car Park and you will need to pay for parking, which is £2.

How to book a place: Click this link to book via Eventbrite – https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1992992913454?aff=oddtdtcreator

You may also join remotely via teams if that is better suited to you.

Hope you’re having a fabulous day! Remember, don’t let yesterday take up too much of today!
