Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity would like to say a massive thank you to The Danny Knox Foundation, who recently donated an incredible £6,000 from their recent Golf Day, held at Gourock Golf Club. ⛳

The Foundation was set up in memory of Danny by his friends, after he sadly passed away from cancer in 2024. The money will be restricted to the new sensory room which will be installed in the Skylark Centre at Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

Each year, approximately 800 children and young people are cared for through the Skylark Centre. The space will play an important role to regulate emotions and reduce anxiety for the children and young people who attend. 💜

We were incredibly proud to sponsor a hole at The Danny Knox Foundationcharity golf day recently! Representing Blairs on the green and driving the fundraising efforts was our very own Maintenance Engineer, Chris McNelis (centre), James McClure (left), PVCu Supervisor, and James Hagerty (right), PVCu Production Manager.

At Blairs, our strength doesn't just come from our factory machinery - it comes from the camaraderie of our people and our passion for giving back to the community that supports us.

We’re incredibly proud to share where part of the money raised from this year’s Golf Day has gone. 💚

A donation of £6,000 from The Danny Knox Foundation has been given to support the enhancement of the sensory room at Inverclyde Royal Hospital, in partnership with Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

We recently received a heartfelt thank you letter explaining the impact this space will have on young patients and their families. Sensory environments play a huge role in helping children regulate emotions, reduce anxiety, and create a calmer, more supportive experience during hospital visits.

Knowing that the funds raised through our Golf Day will directly help improve the lives of children in our local community makes every bit of support worthwhile.

Thank you again to everyone who attended, sponsored, donated, and supported the day — this is the difference you’ve helped make. 👏💙

What an amazing day at our 3rd Annual Danny Knox Foundation Golf Day ⛳️

A massive thank you to everyone who came along and supported the day , all of our players, sponsors, Derek Watters & Stephen at Gourock Golf Club, Stuart McFarlane , Monica and the bar staff, and of course Danny’s family. Your support means everything to us.

Also a huge thank you to St Andrews BC FC for donating £150 to us on the day .

We estimate that we have raised around £10,000 for local charities, which is absolutely incredible.

We are delighted to say that £6,000 of this will be going to Glasgow Children’s Hospital to support the creation of a sensory room at the Skylark Centre in Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

We’ll come back to everyone over the next few days with confirmation of the final total once all auction money has been collected and counted. So everyone who has kindly bought an auction item, please reach out for payment.
