A lovely Saturday in the garden sunshine today🙏❤️ Was a pleasure to meet Michel from Coöperatie Stationspark Deurne based in Holland🇳🇱 having a look around the garden🙏
The miniature daffodils are now planted around the Wellbeing Rose garden perimeter😃👍 We have some sweet peas germinating and Polytunnel temeprature varied from 2 degrees to 45 degrees today !!!🤯
Garlic and winter onion sets planted today🧅🧄🧅🧄 Some geums, geraniums and japanese anemones giving us some autumn flowers🌺🪻🥬
Well done to all volunteers today🙏
Saturdays 10am all year round, come and join us🙏😃😉

Many thanks to the Gourock Horticultural Society today for their warm welcome today at Cardwell Garden Centre and for inviting Blooming Bob to meet with them🌷🍁🍃🪻🥬

He had a lovely afternoon talking with members about the journey of Blooming Inverkip since 2018 up to our new Polytunnel and ongoing Rose Garden build🌺🌺🌺🌺

It was also a pleasure to share some GardenFest reminicence in relation to the late George Irvine🙏 And also talking favourite plants with everyone with some interesting choices around the table😃❤️👍

As the autumn hues are evident in the garden it was great to still be able to talk about local community gardening and some 2027 suggestions were already being disscussed👍🍁🍃🌷🧅🧄🍎🍒🌼🌻🍏

🌱 A fantastic day of volunteering at Blooming Inverkip! 🌱🌷🌻🌼🍅🥬

A huge thank you to the fantastic team from Network Rail who joined us today and gave their time, energy and enthusiasm to help us at Blooming Inverkip. 💚

We really appreciate the support Network Rail has given us and the difference your team has made to our community garden today. It was brilliant to spend the day working together and seeing so much achieved! 👏🌿🙏🌻🌷🌼❤️

A thank you to Stuart McMillan MSP 's office for directing Network Rail to Blooming Inverkip to allow us to collaborate in this manner.

Network Rail have give a bit back to the Inverkip community by clearing weeds and overgrown areas that should be the responsibility of other parties🤔👍

The Wellbeing Rose garden build is now well underway thanks to them🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷 and we will be working on this is the weeks to come🙏🌻🌼

Our Veg trugs have been moved to the back patio and now provide an accessible space for wheelchair users to garden and ideally sited next to our Polytunnel🥒🍒🍏🍎🍊🥔

The sun showed up and a special big thank you must go to our team , our 'ICON Award '2026 winners😉 who were making soup🥣🥣🥣 , chutney, sandwiches and keeping everyone motivated today🌼🌻🪻

Thank you again to everyone who has been so kind and complimentary to our team about their work and recent achievements🌷🍒🍏🌻

Our Rose Garden build is likely to be the final part of our gardening infrastructure at Inverkip Hub and the moving forward annual maintenace , gardening , fun and community is where it will be at🍎🪻🌷🍒

Join us on Saturdays at 10am for our group session or during the week with other team members.👍

We would like to thank the chamber and everyone voting and our fellow nominees Inverclyde Community Food Network and Inverclyde Climate Action Network for everything they have achieved this year.🙏👏

We are a very small voluntary community group but we do care about our community, gardening and keeping Inverkip , Inverclyde and Scotland Beautiful Keep Scotland Beautiful and of course caring for the environment on the journey to net zero.🌼🌷

We believe that groups like ours are not just a "garden project" they are part of critical local infrastructure. 🙏❤️❤️

Factors like
-soicial isolation
-food poverty
- physical health
- mental health
- the enviroment
- forming lasting friendships
- intergenerational working
- education of young people

And many more can all be impacted by grass root groups like ours.💪👏🌼🌷🪻🙏❤️

In this day and age with so much negative talk about the cost of living, politics, data centres etc....🤔

Hopefully recgonition like this shows that community gardens have an important and positive role to play in our local society🙏🪻🌷

We would like to say a big thank you to all at Inverkip Hub , our amazing volunteers who go above and beyond , Our project funders and also our community partner's who know who they are🙏❤️❤️

We dedicate this recognition to John Williams and Holly Timmermans , 2 of our volunteers who have passed away but both left their indellible mark as group volunteers and ICONs ,good friends, full of fun and wisdom❤️❤️🙏🙏
And friendship is often what its all about.🤷‍♂️😃

We are very proud to be nominated as a finalist for the "Journey to Net Zero" category in this years ICON Awards🙏🏆
This year has been difficult for a number of reasons, losing group members and challenging circumstances🙏 But resilience is key and we are very proud of our team and their 2026 achievements❤️🍓🫑🍊🥒🥕🫛
We are honoured to be nominated with Inverclyde Community Food Network and Inverclyde Climate Action Network both doing wonderful jobs highlighting aspects of food poverty and awareness of the dangers to our climate.🙏❤️

It was a pleasure to welcome Wendy once again in her role as Keep Scotland Beautiful assesor to Inverkip👍🌺🌸🌷🍓🍒🍊🍈🥒🥬
We stopped off at Inverkip Primary School to show our ongoing engagement with the school and the Wellbeing garden planted up in flower with 60 different species of plant in celebration of KSB Beautiful Scotlands 60 years and championing "Little People Power"😉👍💪
We stopped to look at some work at Inverkip Hotel and then went to Inverkip Hub.
Our amazing team were hard at work harvesting but also having fun, especially with our carrot experiment🥕🥕🥕
A visit to our new polytunnel 🌶🫑🥒🌶🥒🫑
and a couple of pictures beside our 12ft sunflowers🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻

Hi folks ,
We are preparing for our Keep Scotland Beautiful visit next week.🙏😃🌸🌻🌷🌺
Assessment is on 40% community participation, 30% environmental respsonsibility , 30 % gardening achievement.
Our amazing volunteers have been working hard to keep your community garden looking good.🙏
We are also at the start of our wellbeing rose garden build, and despite the mess of the ground next door the community garden is a place to be proud of and evidence of what volunteers can achieve in our community.❤️
Was great to plant up a couple of planters for our community partners Inverkip Hotel .
Check out the pollinators and flowers with your amazing meals🥗 and refreshments🍺

SATURDAYS from 10am if you are about......We run a safe community space , friends, banter, coffee /cake and a bit of gardening are on the agenda.
Qualifications required are a heartbeat❤️👇 and enthusiasm🤷‍♂️😉🙈❤️

Community gardens are safe spaces and often a haven for volunteers and for members of the public who enjoy them.
We are honoured to support The Anchor for their trailblazing work in Inverclyde.
Our wellbeing rose garden "when it is built" will have the Anchor's information attatched to it😃👍🌷🥀🌺🌸🌻

Wonderful day today representing Blooming Inverkip at Keep Scotland Beautiful's Networking Event hosted by Organic Growers of Fairlie and by The Douglas Park Project in Largs.😎🙏🌸🌻🌺🌷🥀
It was great to meet such like minded people passionate about all aspects of community gardening.😃👍
Lots of inspiration and information on hand . Well worth a visit to anyone whilst in Fairlie or Largs👍🌸🌻🌷🥀🙏

Got to hand it to our volunteers Jean and Jill and the staff and kids for creating and maintaining a wonderful summer display at Inverkip Primary School🥀🌷🌸🪻🌻🌺
The good weather is helping but regular watering and feeding from our two volunteers has things looking really great🙏👏👏👏
