Morning Folks!

A wee bit of a hiatus on the page so that we can get through some of our backlog of work - we have big things in the works for this coming year!

As a caveat to this, we need to have a wee whinge. We’d politely ask our patrons not to leave any loose parts or full bicycles on our doorstep outside of our operating hours. We cannot guarantee their safety or the fact that they’ll still be there when we get in to open the workshop.

We’ll be posting some of our available bikes this week so keep an eye on the page over the coming days and see what we have on offer 🚲

ICDT Community Tracks turns 10! 🎉

2026 marks the 10 year anniversary of the founding of the Community Tracks project, and what a decade it has been! Going from a small group of guys dedicated to keeping bikes out of landfill, we’ve scaled to - albeit the same small group of guys - who are now an INTEGRAL part of Inverclyde’s Active Travel, community and health improvement initiatives; still repairing and recycling bikes, all while teaching future generations the importance of bicycles and how to maintain them alongside BEING THERE for OUR communities! 🫂

Our support network and the significance of their individual strengths cannot be understated. From our partners in IFIT, HSCP, SAMH, Women’s Aid, Barnardos and SDS; all the way to our chief organisations like Sustrans, Inverclyde Council and OF COURSE - The Inverclyde Community Development Trust - every SINGLE organisation and individual involved with us has have a role to play in our success and they are the VERY reason we continue to exist today 🥹

We are gearing up for 2026 to be one of our bigger years, and we hope you’ll all come along for the ride! 🚲

As always, keep pedalling Inverclyde!

All our love,

Team CT 🤘🏻

Good Morning and a massive Happy New Year to our followers!

This post from Inverclyde Council contains a survey which we’d highly recommend our patrons fill out regarding future updates to our active travel network.

We’re able to provide the bikes but if there’s no decent infrastructure there that benefits both pedestrians/cyclists AND motorists then it makes life much more difficult for us 🙈

Keep an eye on our page for more updates this week as we’re gearing up for one of our most fruitful and forward-moving years to date! 🚲

Inverclyde Council is updating its Active Travel Strategy. The aim of this is to recognise the progress that’s been made since the 2018 Active Travel Strategy was introduced and create a longer term plan to make it easier for people in Inverclyde to walk, wheel or cycle.

As part of this process the Council is conducting a survey to understand the barriers that deter people from walking, wheeling or cycling for short trips and to get your views on which routes should be prioritised.

Morning Folks,

Today begins the scheduled footway works on Regent Street and there are parking restrictions for the full lengths of the stretch between Dellingburn Street and Lynedoch Street. This means that we will have restricted access to the workshop for drop offs.

Otherwise we are still operating as normal.

Keep Pedalling!

In other news: we'll be present at Cloch Housing Association's November Engagement Sessions this Friday morning between 0930 and 1200 to provide information around our project and some Dr Bike information; so feel free to come along for a natter or even bring your bike along and we can give it a quick once over to see if it needs anything for the cold months ahead 🥶❄️

Morning Folks!

So by now you've all seen our plea for bikes this winter, either through this page or via our friends at Greenock Telegraph thanks to their article about our Winter Bike Drive in last week's news: https://www.greenocktelegraph.co.uk/news/25615865.winter-bike-appeal-launched-inverclyde-community-trust/

We have to say that the outpouring of support has been staggering; our collection days have been filled for the next two weeks! So a massive THANK YOU to all who have offered their bikes to our cause.

As a caveat to this, we have to make a couple things known (don't worry, its nothing bad 👀):

- We cannot accept any bikes that are beyond repair - badly rusted or damaged bicycles cannot be saved in an economical fashion and therefore will not be collected.

- We will accept all bikes regardless of size or style; kids, teens or adults, it doesn't matter we'll take them all!

- Our collections will be for DONATED bicycles only. We do not offer a collection and drop off service for private repairs (although this may be an avenue we take in the far future, that remains to be seen of course.)

- If the collection date is too far in the future for you, and you need to get rid of the bicycle(s) quicker, you can drop them off to our workshop during our operating hours; we still accept in person donations.

- Inverclyde Council are completing some roadworks on the footpaths on Regent Street in the coming weeks, so there will be restricted access to parking if you do choose to drop any bicycles off during said works.

Right, bulletpoints done for the day 😮‍💨 We'll be getting on with getting on for this week. As always, keep pedalling! 🚲

Brass neck time...

We've been away from Facebook that long that we've forgotten that our followers are our BEST asset when it comes to obtaining bikes that Inverclyde's residents no longer want, need or are simply in need of some TLC.

So today we are announcing our Winter Bike Appeal (Yes its the same photo we used in 2023 but shhhh)! We are on the ask for bikes of all sizes and conditions; if it needs work, we'll get it back up and running and passed on to those in need!

If you have any bikes to donate, simply drop the page a message or contact us on our workshop number listed on our information section.

Santa's nearly here folks, maybe time to clear out some space for the new bikes this year eh? 👀🚲

INVERCLYDE! Our page has returned!

After a, sadly, long hiatus; we are now able to monitor our page once again! Our sincerest apologies to anyone who has reached out to us in the last few months and have not received a response.

This is however, an announcement that we will now be returning to normal business in regards to contact, posting and information sharing via this platform. We have big plans for the rest of the year and even further into the future and we hope you'll join us for the ride!

Keep an eye on the page over the next few days, and - as always - Keep Pedalling!

A Greenock man is ready to roll with the punches as he steps into the boxing ring for the first time to raise cash for a worthy local cause.

Ross McIntyre is taking part in an Ultra White Collar Boxing event at the Normandy Hotel in Renfrew next month to bring in funds for Ardgowan Hospice.

The 30-year-old has been boxing since his late teens, but this will be his first bout in front of a crowd and he's delighted to be helping out the Hospice.

Seen a bike with this wee blue sticker on it?

This new addition to our bikes signifies that the bike has been refurbished by our team to ensure it has received the best treatment possible before going back out our doors.

They also show that our bikes are in possession of those who are looking to better themselves in any number of ways by getting back on a bike for what could be the first time in years - or, indeed, for the first time ever!

But they also serve another purpose; these wee stickers act as your mechanical guarantee. We offer a limited 6 month mechanical guarantee with all of our bikes that cover all faults that may occur outwith the users’ control. They show that the bike(s) came from our workshop and are privvy to the best service they can get 💙

So keep a wee lookout for our blue beacons 👀 and as always, Keep Pedalling! 🚲
