Morning Folks!
So by now you've all seen our plea for bikes this winter, either through this page or via our friends at Greenock Telegraph thanks to their article about our Winter Bike Drive in last week's news: https://www.greenocktelegraph.co.uk/news/25615865.winter-bike-appeal-launched-inverclyde-community-trust/
We have to say that the outpouring of support has been staggering; our collection days have been filled for the next two weeks! So a massive THANK YOU to all who have offered their bikes to our cause.
As a caveat to this, we have to make a couple things known (don't worry, its nothing bad 👀):
- We cannot accept any bikes that are beyond repair - badly rusted or damaged bicycles cannot be saved in an economical fashion and therefore will not be collected.
- We will accept all bikes regardless of size or style; kids, teens or adults, it doesn't matter we'll take them all!
- Our collections will be for DONATED bicycles only. We do not offer a collection and drop off service for private repairs (although this may be an avenue we take in the far future, that remains to be seen of course.)
- If the collection date is too far in the future for you, and you need to get rid of the bicycle(s) quicker, you can drop them off to our workshop during our operating hours; we still accept in person donations.
- Inverclyde Council are completing some roadworks on the footpaths on Regent Street in the coming weeks, so there will be restricted access to parking if you do choose to drop any bicycles off during said works.
Right, bulletpoints done for the day 😮💨 We'll be getting on with getting on for this week. As always, keep pedalling! 🚲
- Ross
A call has gone out for unwanted bikes to help those in need.
