βOur Voices Matter in This Reviewβ
For the first time in 17 years, the law is being asked to face a truth that victims and families have known for decades:
People are dying because the law has not kept up with the reality of abuse.
This homicide review is not just another consultation.
It is the first time the Law Commission has asked the public whether the law should finally recognise:
β’ that coercive control can lead to death, and
β’ that walking away, delaying help, or ignoring a lifeβthreatening situation should no longer be treated as βnot breaking the law.β
Families who have lost loved ones have been saying this for years.
Victims have been saying this for years.
Professionals have been saying this for years.
Now, finally the law is listening.
But it only matters if we speak up.
This questionnaire is how victims, families, frontline workers and the public can make sure the law reflects the reality of abuse and the failures weβve all seen.
π£ This review is our chance to be heard.
π£ This is how we give victims and families a voice.
π£ This is how we push for a real Duty of Care.
The consultation closes 30 September 2026.
Please take 10 minutes to complete the questionnaire and share your experience, your views, and your voice.
