There are plenty of little things we ignore, but your smoke alarm should never be one of them🚨

It’s smoke alarm purchasing month, so a good reminder to test your alarm is working. You should test your smoke alarm at least once a month by pressing the test button for 3–5 seconds.

If your alarm doesn’t sound, the battery may need changing. If it’s still not working or you don’t have one, please get in touch with us so we can help.

You should also gently vacuum over your smoke alarm every three months to help prevent a build-up of dust and cobwebs, which can cause false alarms.

Imagined and shaped by residents, this new space brings sustainable living to life, giving local residents the chance to see energy-saving technology in action and learn more about making their homes warmer and more energy efficient.

Clarion residents in Leeds can join our free two-day programme with Populi, combining boxing sessions with mental health coaching and personal development activities.

Across the two sessions, you’ll have the chance to get active, build your confidence and learn practical ways to support your mental wellbeing, such as coping and emotional regulation strategies and tips for developing positive thinking patterns.

Residents in Haywards Heath recently came together at The Bentswood @ 34 to find out more about the different ways they can get involved and help shape our services 👋

Over refreshments and pastries from the neighbouring café, as well as a homemade cake kindly brought along by one resident, everyone had the chance to chat, ask questions and hear from others who are already involved with Clarion.

They shared their experiences of opportunities including Clarion Voice, our Community Inspector programme and the Resident Procurement Group, giving others an insight into what getting involved can look like.

There are lots of ways to have your say. Whether you have feedback to share, want to join a group or would like to play a part in improving our services, we’d love to hear from you.

Every year, there are accidental deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning, so it’s vital we’re able to complete your annual gas safety check. Keep a look out for your appointment letter. You must confirm your appointment date and provide access on the day.

It’s National Inclusion Week 🤝

This year’s theme, “Build Trust. Navigate Change.”, is a reminder of the importance of creating an inclusive environment where people feel supported as they navigate change and take their next steps.

After spending time away from work due to ill health, Jo found support through Clarion Futures’ Wellbeing Circle. She’s now volunteering, developing her skills and completing a coaching qualification as she moves closer to returning to work.

The Wellbeing Circle was a collaborative programme delivered by Jobs Plus, Active Inclusion and our core Jobs and Training London Team, supporting residents like Jo to build their confidence and take positive steps forward.

This year’s theme is ‘Take No Chances’, encouraging everyone to follow gas safety advice and know the signs to help keep your home safe.

Every year, there are accidental deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning, which is why regular gas safety checks are so important.

Your gas safety check is required once a year, we will write to you when it’s due.

Please look out for your appointment letter, you must confirm your appointment date and provide access on the day.
