TTRA - Thames Traditional Rowing Association To support and promote the sport of fixed seat rowing and sculling on the River Thames in Waterman?

Mission Statement:
To support and promote the sport of fixed seat rowing and sculling on the River Thames in Waterman’s Cutters. About the boats:
The modern day Waterman’s Cutter is a design based on drawings of boats used by the Watermen of London in the 1700’s. In the 1980’s the organisers of the Great River Race developed the modern day boat and produced the first of the fleet of 24 many of which now compete annually in this Marathon of the River.

Festival of rowing prior to The Chanel J12 Boat Race

Well that was a resounding success!

After all these years you would have thought we would get a few seconds of coverage but Channel 4 just like BBC didn't give us glimpse.

Undeterred it was great to see the array of rowing vessels from Thames waterman cutters to Skerries complete the Boat race route twice.

TTRA - Thames Traditional Rowing Association cutter race was eventually won by
Mens: Gordon Hall
Mixed: Water forget me knot

Organised by the Thames Traditional Rowing Association

The Tudor Pull 2025 takes place this coming weekend on Sunday 25th May.

This annual rowing event on the River Thames sees a HM Bargemaster, deliver the Stela, a section of wooden water pipe encased in glass, to the Governor of the Tower of London.

The ceremonial journey is made aboard the Royal Shallop Jubilant, rowed by HM Royal Watermen.

A flotilla of traditional Thames Waterman Cutters will accompany the procession from Richmond, including the Company Shallop Lady Mayoress, which will be coxed by Company Bargemaster, Robbie Coleman and rowed by Freemen and apprentices of The Company of Watermen and Lightermen of the River Thames
