What happens in the first minutes of life can determine everything 👶

March is Women’s History Month, a moment to reflect on the women who have shaped not just science, but systems, access, and care.

As we continue through the final days of the month, we’re highlighting women who transformed not just medicine, but the experience of healthcare itself.

From creating a system that protects newborns in their first moments of life to breaking barriers so women could access dignified care, their impact goes beyond innovation
it reshaped who healthcare is for 🌍

These stories remind us that global health is not only about progress
it is about equity, access, and dignity.

These two women helped save millions of lives and you may have never heard of them 🌍

March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognise the women whose work has shaped the world we live in today.

In global health, that impact is everywhere 🌱

As we move through the final stretch of the month, we’re starting with two women who changed how we understand and treat disease at a global scale.

From transforming how drugs are designed 💊 to identifying one of the leading causes of child mortality, their work has saved millions of lives worldwide.

But behind these breakthroughs were years of persistence in systems that did not always make space for them.

Their stories remind us that innovation in global health is not just about discovery
it is about who gets the opportunity to lead it.
