Starting off the day being consulted on the Good Child Index, chatting about factors that impact mental health and wellbeing for young people. 🧠
-
While we were here, we of course had a tour of the stadium! ⚽️ From the pitch, to the changing rooms, we learnt facts and saw how things looked behind the scenes!

This week, we’ve had some fantastic conversations with the youth advisory groups from Caister Academy , Ormiston Venture Academy and Great Yarmouth Charter Academy as part of Mental Health Awareness Week.

This year’s theme is “Action” — because while raising awareness is important, real change happens when we take meaningful action too.

Together, young people shared powerful ideas and reflections on:
💚 Taking action to support their own mental health
- spending time with Friends & Family - Gaming - Picnics - going to YAB -being active -

💚 Supporting the mental wellbeing of others
-Talk to someone you trust - self care - doing something active - alone time -

💚 What action government and services can take to improve mental health support for young people
- Make therapy more accessible - Make shorter school days - address Cost of Living- new playground equipment -

Powerful conversations this week. Well Done to all the GY YAG's!

“Crossing The Line” is a powerful theatre production exploring the realities of County Lines for young people—and we’re proud to have supported the second half of its development.

Every Wednesday, the youth action group come together to dive into the project: discussing themes, rehearsing scenes, sharing ideas, and helping shape the direction of the production as it moves toward professional rehearsals. Their voices and creativity are at the heart of this work.

Youth Worker Beth joins the group every other week, supporting these sessions along the way.

This is more than theatre—it’s a space for expression, learning, and real conversations.

Here is some of the lovely things the young people fed back;
“It’s been really good; I really enjoy the workshops”
“Good experience and brings your mind to different types of acting”
“It is a reality check that some people our age are really living this life”
“It’s getting me out of the house and doing stuff I haven’t done before”

What an amazing impact!

A project we have loved supporting is now coming to theatres near you!
-
St. George's Theatre Great Yarmouth were successful in applying for the tender relating to raising awareness around drugs and alcohol. This involved supporting a Youth Action Group working alongside directors, producers and cast in developing this production.
-
We are excited for Monday's premier - See you there!🥳

Our new production CROSSING THE LINE will be touring in May!

Erik's dad has died and his life is falling apart. There's no money at home, all Mum's attention goes on his baby sisters, and school feels impossible. Turning away from his family and friends, Erik falls in with the wrong crowd. At first he likes the easy money, the new phone, the box fresh trainers. But he's quickly sucked into a terrifying world of drug dealing and violence.

Based on the award-winning novel by Tia Fisher, this powerful drama explores the devastating impact of county lines - and celebrates courage and resilience.
Adapted for the stage by Helena McBurney and directed by Katie Thompson.

Today Great Yarmouth Charter Academy, we celebrated Earth Week with a focus on re-use and recycling ♻️

Charter YAG got creative using home recycling to build amazing sculptures—proving that sustainability and imagination go hand in hand. And the best part? Nothing goes to waste! All cardboard will be reused for compost at the school gardens after the event 🌱

To wrap it up, the Charter YAG voted for their favourite creation… 🐘 Huge congratulations to Team Gousto Elephant for taking the win!
