Congratulations to Future Projects on achieving their Commitment to Inclusion award on Friday! The hard work and dedication of our delivery partners and providers is truly something to admire. 🎉

The multi-agency Building Better Opportunities project, which has been supporting long-term unemployed people into education, training and work since 2017, is sadly coming to an end.

But our team on the project won an award for their contribution! A Commitment to Inclusivity award, for supporting trainees into meaningful jobs.

Well done to our team and everyone else involved in the project, who have collectively supported over 1,500 people toward work!

Take a look at the impact Norfolk Community College has had on helping to support communities, individuals, and even employees on the project.

The Norfolk Community College project is funded by the European Social Fund and The National Lottery Community Fund.

The Norfolk Community College project’s ‘Sector Based Work Academy’ has provided support to many participants across Norfolk, including Steve Whittle – better known as Mr. Kayak!

Steve was unemployed for a number of years due to having a back problem that stopped him from working as a builder.

Steve had an idea for a business and needed help and advice in setting up as self-employed. The support Steve received from Action Community Enterprises helped him not only formulate a solid business plan, but also advised him with budgeting, digital marketing and helping him to realise his dream of opening a retail premises.

Mr. Kayak recently opened its doors at Unit 5, Hall Farm Business Park, Rollesby selling kayaks, paddleboards and accessories in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. They have an open day on Saturday 18th February where you can visit this success story for yourself! 🎉
