Happy Christmas to all from the Dig team........ and, well, there you were wondering what mighty morsel you may wish to give to a wonderful person and of a 'local' nature, and hey presto there are still some imaginative and rather lovely 'DIG' gifts available for you !!
Squires Electrical in the town square (Gt Torrington) holds the key to these wonders - see below for the current range of goodies (or just) still available..... go on, you know you could.....
thanks to all our fine and wonderful team and helpers and keep an eye open for the results of the report currently being sorted.

Busy day onsite today, GTS, Bluecoats, and home schooled all visited, along with a group of Torridge district councillors and the town Mayor. Trench 4 has been filled in leaving 2 to go...... and here are various photos from the day and a video with Sam Walls, lead member of SWARCH (South West Archaeology) explaining the stratification of different dig levels.
We have also had a full set of ground penetrating procedures across the bowling green, which should show the foundations of the newer castle - which will really help our understanding of what was onsite after the Motte was destroyed.
We all hope you have enjoyed being slightly immersed in our dig moments - and hope you may have caught the dig on ITV Westcountry news today!
Tomorrow (Saturday) is a day of site clearing and filling trenches, effectively finishing 'the dig' - on Sunday we will clear the site of infrastructure for taking away.
Please feel free to share, like and follow this page - it will continue to inform going forward........thanks.
