Charlie Dodsley!

Why do I like living in Japan? It's safe, it's clean, and it has order. There are very few surprises. Trains are on time. When you go to a restaurant, the food that arrives is exactly like it is pictured. The bakeries and food halls are immaculate. Shop workers are professional, have manners and take their jobs seriously – no phones in sight, or even talking to their coworkers about personal things. For the most part, the streets are spotless, especially in the suburban areas. You are unlikely to see weeds or stray rocks on the ground, let alone trash. I have heard some people say that the silent trains have no life, but as someone who values peace and quiet, it suits me perfectly. It is an OCD paradise, a place built for introverts as much as extroverts. I don't know how Tokyo manages it, but despite being one of the busiest cities in the world, I have found a calmness unmatched by anywhere else. Seeing a line of workers on the train platform today, cleaning a barrier that wasn't even that dirty to begin with, shows me a sense of pride, that every detail is important, and deserves attention and respect.

SEP would encourage all our supporters and anyone else who would prefer to see a restored country park at Easton Park rather than a development of 10,000 houses to take part in the local plan consultation and give their support to the Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy and in particular to Strategic Opportunity 8 – A New Country Park at Easton Park.

For full details on how to respond to the Local Plan consultation and support the creation of a new country park at Easton Park through the UDC Green and Blue Strategy, please visit our web site at www.stopeastonpark.co.uk.

PUBLIC CONSULTATION CLOSES ON THE 18th of DECEMBER!

06/12/2023

The new Uttlesford Draft Local Plan (Regulation 18) is open for public consultation until Monday 18 December 2023.

Easton Park has been proposed as a site for a potential new Country Park within the “Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy” (part of the draft local plan evidence base).
The strategy sets out how Easton Park has the potential to relieve some of the pressures faced by Hatfield Forest and contribute to improving the provision of open space for a growing population in Great Dunmow and Takeley along the A120 corridor.
We would encourage all our supporters and anyone else who would prefer to see a Country Park Restored at Easton Park rather than 10,000 houses to take part in the consultation and give their support to the Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy and in particular to Strategic Opportunity 8 – A New Country Park at Easton Park.
