Dunmow Rotary Youth Competition Awards 2025/6

On the 22nd of May, the Rotary Club of Dunmow hosted its annual Youth Competition Awards Event. This year’s competition included Young Artist, Environmentalist, Musician, Photographer and Writer.

Our youth competition prize winners, their parents and grandparents, attended the event. Unfortunately, not all winners could make it, but those who did received certificates and prizes for their achievements.

This year’s competitions have been another success with just under 90 entries. Two entries from each of the Young Photographer, Writer & Environmentalist categories and one from the Young Artist category have advanced from our local competitions through the District competitions to the National Rotary Finals. The results are eagerly anticipated.

Well done to all the entrants in this year’s competitions and especially the winners and National finalists.

The award winners attending are pictured with the Great Dunmow Town Mayor, Councillor Carole Sullivan.

Visit to Essex & Herts Air Ambulance at North Weald

On Wednesday members of the Rotary Club of Dunmow, along with partners and friends visited the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance station at North Weald Airfield. Members were given a great insight into the operation of the Air Ambulance, by volunteers Tony & Hoss, in the experience centre and got the opportunity to see one of the helicopters. They do some amazing work, all funded by donations.

On Friday 13th March, the Rotary Club of Dunmow hosted its 37th annual Rose Bowl Quiz. Over 90 quizzers battled through eight rounds of questions and a picture round to claim the coveted Dunmow Rotary Rose Bowl.

The Dunmow and District Probus Club Team emerged victorious for the sixth time in the competition’s history. The team consisted of Joe Hobbs, Adrian Hoodless, Jennifer Hoodless, Angela Harbottle, Ron Gilder (capt), Marilyn Edwards, Bill Edwards and Ian Westall, all pictured with Lois Sparkes, Rotary Club of Dunmow President, in the middle, presenting the Rose Bowl.
