Last night’s AGM was very well attended by our branch members and generously hosted at Sue’s house. It was a lovely opportunity to celebrate a hugely successful year, including winning three awards at the Sugarcraft Show in May. Over recent months we’ve enjoyed learning how to make sugar fruit and vegetables, as well as the sweetest little field mice. We’re now looking forward to our upcoming projects, which include sugar hats and festive gingerbread houses.

Step through the gates of Sugar Hill Farm, where Autumn never ends and everything — yes, everything — is made of sugar.

For the BSG South East Cake & Sugarcraft Show 2026, our branch members brought this sweet world to life: crates of blushing apples, plump pumpkins, shy pears, proud potatoes, and bunches of grapes that look ready to burst. Sunflowers nod over the table like friendly giants, and the little wheelbarrow waits patiently for its next sugary harvest.

At the heart of the display sits our mischievous Veg Head, named Haarvie, stitched together from the farm’s finest produce and always ready with a cheeky grin. And if you look closely, you’ll spot the tiniest residents of Sugar Hill Farm — a whole family of sugar field mice, each one crafted by a different member, each with its own little story to tell.

Every piece you see was shaped, dusted, painted, and placed by hand. It was a true team adventure, and we’re overjoyed that this enchanted autumn scene was awarded GOLD at the BSG Cake & Sugarcraft Show.

If you’d like to follow our sugarcraft tales — or even join us on the next one — check out our program of activities this year.
