SCOUTS -

We’ve made it home from a brilliant week at Summer Camp! 🏕️

We packed plenty into the second half of the week, including a trip to the adventure park for high ropes, bowling and mini golf, a day at the beach, and an evening hearing the stories behind everyone’s Scout mascots.

We’re back to our regular Monday meetings in September and currently have spaces for new Scouts aged 10–14.

SCOUTS - We’re already halfway through Summer Camp 2026 and it’s been a busy few days!

This year, 3rd Bookham and 1st Effingham Scouts are camping together in West Sussex, joined by Explorers from Effingleatherfetchpole.

Here’s what we’ve been up to so far:

🥾 Sunday – a hike across the South Downs Way to start the week.
🎣 Monday – the Explorers headed out sea fishing to catch dinner, while the Scouts learnt bushcraft skills, carved their own staff sticks, made bannock and cooked either the fish or chicken.
⛵ Tuesday – a day sailing, followed by planning our menus for the rest of the week, a supermarket trip and a game of musical bingo in the evening.
🪵 Wednesday – making tealight holders, learning about water purification, making pegs with axes, a game of rounders and cooling off with a water fight.

We’ve still got plenty more planned for the second half of the week!
