These rooms not only benefit the children and young adults, but also their families, carers, staff and volunteers. Together For Cinema has comprehensive support and backing from our industry, hence all products and installation services are donated. Increasingly there are other opportunities presenting themselves that show there is much more than can be done, be it linking up international AV comp

anies with good causes or recycling second hand AV equipment it is clear there is the need for an industry conduit to liaise with good causes in the UK. Quite simply Together For Cinema is a pure and unquestionable good.

For Ron Locke of KEF , this year’s London to Brighton will be his third ride for Together For Cinema.

Ron has been steadily putting in the training and is hoping to be in relatively good shape when 13 September arrives.

For him, the reason for taking part is much bigger than the challenge itself, and when we asked him why he keeps coming back, his answer rather puts those 55 miles into perspective.

“I feel the few hours of discomfort I’ll go through during the ride is massively insignificant compared to the daily pain and struggles of the children and their families whom TFC supports. It’s a pleasure to be part of this event.”

Thank you Ron for coming back for year three and for once again being part of Team TFC.

In just over two weeks, Ron will join 64 other riders taking on 55 miles from London to Brighton to raise funds for Together For Cinema.

🚴‍♂️ Throwback Thursday: London to Brighton 2023 - The Original Three!

Back in 2023, the three-man Team Lycra completed the 55 mile London to Brighton cycle ride to raise funds for Together For Cinema.

Matt McLernon, now Account Manager at Converged Technologies, Greg Stuttle and Together For Cinema founder Ian Morrish got on their bikes, tackled the hills and helped raise vital funds for our work.

Since then, the Together For Cinema London to Brighton fundraising effort has grown significantly.

Look how far we have come for 2026!

On Sunday 13 September, 65 riders from across the AV industry will take on London to Brighton for Together For Cinema.

What was once a small fundraising team has grown into something much bigger, bringing people from across our industry together for one shared purpose.

Having taken part in the London to Brighton ride for the last two years, Darren didn’t need much persuading to sign up again for 2026!

“Having participated for the last two years, it was a no brainer to join the TFC team again for 2026 and help raise vital funds for the amazing work that Ian, the team and the wider industry do.

Knowing that the money raised helps create spaces that can put a smile on children’s faces during incredibly tough times makes every mile worthwhile.

And getting to ride with such a huge group of like minded industry colleagues and friends makes it all the more enjoyable!”

💙 The impact of our industry can extend far beyond a cinema room.

At Together For Cinema, we have seen first hand what can happen when the AV industry comes together to use its technology, expertise and resources to support good causes.

That same thinking sits behind GivingBack.tech, helping useful surplus AV equipment find a new purpose with charities and CICs across the UK.

A recent example comes from GVAV.

Through its GVCARES programme, GVAV has donated a pair of JBL Control 1 loudspeakers to Marie Curie UK Hospice Liverpool through GivingBack.tech.

The speakers will help provide music for patients, supporting comfort and wellbeing through music therapy.

The equipment may have finished one role, but in its new home it can make a very human difference.

Mark Jennings, Commercial Director at GVAV, said: “Through our partnership with GivingBack.tech, surplus equipment can be redirected to charities and community organisations with a genuine need, helping to reduce waste while creating positive social impact.”

This is exactly why GivingBack.tech exists. To give useful technology the opportunity to keep creating value, while extending the positive impact our industry can make within the wider community.
