The Scouts connected with many Scouts around the world today as part of JOTA-JOTI. The conditions weren't ideal to talk to Scouts overseas on the radio, but we were able to listen to some of them. Plenty of chatting though on the ScoutWired Discord and Minecraft servers. Big thanks to G0DUA (Stephen) and G0DUS (Mick) from the BSE Amateur Radio Society for all their great support and teaching the Scouts how to communicate over amateur radio. GB0GBS 73.

This weekend our Scouts took part in a two day expedition, walking over 25km over two days along the river Orwell and then inland to Martlesham Heath. They camped overnight at Ipswich, cooking their own meals on small expedition stoves. They were tasked with comparing the wildlife along the river on the first day with the wildlife in the estates, woods and heath on the second. The Scouts all did amazingly well and the leaders really proud in all they did, with the navigating, cooking and persevering with tired feet!

Great Barton Scout Group have just completed a weekend family camp at Bradfield Park Scout Campsite. 19 families including Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers had an amazing time climbing, shooting archery, throwing tomahawks, wheeled tobogganing, exploring a cave simulator, pedal carts and a quiz. Families spent time socialising with each other while helping out with all the tasks needed to run the camp. A huge thank you to those who attended and all those who helped out and made it a fantastic camp!
