Grasmere book event news!

Wednesday 17th June at 7pm, at Grasmere Village Hall, we're hosting an evening with Katie Clapham, bookseller and author of brand new memoir RECEIPTS FROM THE BOOKSHOP. Tickets are £2, redeemable from the price of the book.

Katie will be in conversation with Will and Polly from Sam Read's, reflecting on the myriad comings and goings at Storytellers, Inc. in St. Anne's on Sea (the bookshop she runs with her mum), and the emotional rollercoaster of being named the Seventh-Best Bookshop in the Country by The Times on a day where takings came to £16.98.

Grasmere Village Hall — a space for the
whole community! ✨

Last weekend was a great example of just how multifunctional our village hall is… a book fair during the day, theatre in the evening, and badminton the next day!

The hall is currently hosting the amazing Grasmere Players’ production of Agatha Christie’s “And Then There Were None” — with three more chances to see it: tonight, tomorrow evening, and a matinee performance tomorrow afternoon. 🎭

Tickets can be bought online to guarantee your seat, or you can take your chances on the door — but space is limited!

FREE CPR & Defibrillator Awareness Session

Did you know that Grasmere Village Hall has a community defibrillator mounted on the outside of the building, available 24 hours a day?

Would you know what to do if someone suffered a cardiac arrest?

Join us for a free CPR and Defibrillator Awareness Session delivered by the North West Ambulance Service Charity and hosted by Grasmere Village Hall and Grasmere Village Society.

This practical and informative session will teach the basics of CPR and explain how to use a defibrillator safely and confidently. No previous experience is needed, and there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Learning these simple skills could help you save a life and make the most of the life-saving equipment available in our community.

If you haven't yet seen And Then There Were None at Grasmere Village Hall, there is still time—but don't miss it.

Having seen the production ourselves, we can honestly say it is one of the finest Grasmere Players productions we can remember. With outstanding performances from a talented local cast, dramatic staging, atmospheric lighting and sound, and plenty of twists and surprises, it brings Agatha Christie's classic murder mystery brilliantly to life.

Ten strangers are lured to an isolated island, each carrying a dark secret from their past. As suspicion grows and the body count rises, audiences are left guessing right up to the final moments.
