🔑HOUSING ALLOCATION POLICY - CONSULTATION OPEN UNTIL 8 JULY🏠
The City of Edinburgh Council has committed to review its current allocations policy (called the Letting Policy) as one of the actions within the Housing Emergency Action Plan (HEAP). This policy should be reviewed every three to five years to evaluate what is working well, what could be improved and if there are any changes in legislation.

Due to significant pressure on the homeless service, the Council took the decision in April 2025 to suspend the current Letting Policy to allow Council homes to be used for temporary accommodation and to direct let some properties to groups with priorities. The suspension is currently due to end on 31 March 2027.

Your views will help shape our new Lettings Policy. You can complete the survey until 8 July: https://consultationhub.edinburgh.gov.uk/sfc/allocations-policy/
