Memory 2 of 25 📍 Toronto, 2000

Imagine being at an event with 65,000 people and finding nowhere your child is welcome.

That's what the Nicholls family found at the General Conference Session in Toronto: no provision at all for children with special needs like Matthew.

It hurt. But it also lit a spark. Sophia and Nigel came home asking one question: are there other families who feel the same?

Welcome to 25 Memories in 25 Years. Between now and our 25th birthday on 1 December, we're opening the ASNA scrapbook and sharing the moments that shaped us.

Memory 1 of 25: it started with Matthew. Matthew Nicholls was born on 21 May 1996 with Peter's anomaly, and later diagnosed with learning disabilities and autism. His mum and dad, Sophia and Nigel, set out to find a place where their family could belong. Twenty-five years later, thousands of families have found that place with ASNA. 💗
