As part of Belton's Literary Festival, there's a special chance to step into the world of medieval manuscripts with a hands‑on illumination workshop 🖌

Artist Lucy Thomasin Morrish will lead this specialist session on Friday 10 July, exploring traditional techniques of gilding, colour, and decorative design, and guiding you to create your own illuminated miniature to take home.

Participants will be using premium authentic materials including vellum and 22ct gold leaf and this, along with the small, intimate class size, is reflected in the price of £160 which includes admission to the estate.

Places are very limited so find out more and book now at https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/nottinghamshire-lincolnshire/belton-estate/events/c6e6675a-6f41-4861-9cc2-d3210ae9e461

Volume up 🔊

Just when you thought your heart couldn't melt any more from last week's fawn video, just listen to these little bleats! And to top it off we've even got a cameo from Belton's very successful swan couple who've got a massive five cygnets this year.

Thanks to Sacha the ranger, our camera trap queen, and Damian from the garden team, for capturing the cuteness. And please remember, even though they're adorable, to not disturb any wildlife on site, keeping a safe distance and ensuring dogs are on short leads.

Two hearts. One fate. A timeless love reborn. On Sunday 12 July, The Duke’s Theatre Company will present Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, a bold reimagining of the iconic tragedy directed by Joseph Pitcher.

Blending dynamic staging, evocative sound, and the enduring power of Shakespeare’s verse, this retelling illuminates the passion, peril, and youthful intensity at the play’s core, inviting audiences to rediscover the world’s most famous star-crossed lovers.

Our tulip tree (Liriodendron tulipifera) is beginning to flower! 🌷

This very special sight can be found to the left of the Italian Garden as you're facing the conservatory. It's one of the garden team's favourite features at Belton and well worth seeking out on your next visit.
