We all love a bit of Monopoly with the family, but have you ever tried playing it in real life…with 10,000 other people?
Well that’s exactly what Scouts from 2nd Grantham did on March 7, when we took part in Monopoly Run Live - a huge Scout and Guide event across central London.
The concept is simple; you assemble your team, download the app and head to the check-in point bright and early on the day. For us, this was Regents Park.
You then check-in at as many Monopoly sites as you can, either buying it if you’re the first one there via the dedicated app, or paying a fine if you’re not.
Along the way there are quizzes and rewards to earn you extra cash for your virtual pot. The only issue is - do you head for the obscure places just out of central London and take your time, knowing not many others will, or do you clock off as many as possible in the time you have right in the centre of London?
Any sites you don’t visit will be deducted from your cash at the end of the game so it’s all about speed, strategy, map reading and many tens of thousands of steps.
Along the way we encountered a protest (swiftly swerved), shouts of support from passers-by (dib dib dob!) and swarms of Guides, Scouts and Explorers all racing to beat the other teams in their groups.
2nd Grantham will be going along next year so if you fancy ticking off loads of London landmarks, don’t mind a bit of walking and you’ve got a competitive streak make sure you get your name down early!

Well done to everyone involved in 2026 Grantham Gang Show.

The show was a great success and our young people loved the experience!

What a night at Grantham Gang Show!

For nearly a century, since Ralph Reader launched the first Gang Show in 1932 at London’s Scala Theatre, Scouts and Guides have been singing, dancing and making audiences smile. The tradition is alive and well in Grantham .

Tonight’s show was bang up to date – great music, confident singing, sharp choreography and proper laugh-out-loud moments. The energy on stage was infectious.

It is a real pleasure to thank the cast and the extraordinary adult volunteers who make it all possible. Gang Show does not just happen – it is built on months of commitment, encouragement and quiet leadership.

An uplifting, life-affirming evening. Bravo to everyone involved. 👏

This Remembrance Day, Lincolnshire Scouts stand together to honour those who gave their lives in service to our country.

Across the county, Scouts will proudly take part in parades and services, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of our Armed Forces, past and present.

We are incredibly proud of all our young people and volunteers who give their time to represent Scouting with respect and pride. Thank you for showing the true spirit of Scouting in your communities.

We will remember them.

2nd Grantham Scouts last weekend (2-5 May) took part in Stamcamp - Stamford and Bourne District Camp alongside over 700 other Scouts and Guides from nearby districts and counties.

We had fun, adventure, made new friends and experienced chilly nights together. ⛺⚜️👭🤝

Scouts could try archery, climbing, caving, go-carts, paddle boards, crafts, pioneering and many more 🎯🧗🏻🏄🏻

There was also an opportunity to reflect on 80 VE Day🇬🇧 while bringing together scouts made Light of Peace on Sunday night after campfire.🔥

Scouts and Leaders would like to thank all Leaders and Volunteers who made this camp happen and lead activities. We will definitely be back for the next one!
