Today we put on a training day for the helpers of last year’s 2 day Open Retriever Trial as a thank you.

Our Interim Chairman Kevin Butler Turpingreen Gundogs 2022 IGL Retriever Champions and Breeders. ran the training day and set up retrieves to push both dog and handler and after a lovely buffet lunch (and cakes!) we finished off with a fun walk-up.

A great day was had by all and it was a lovely day to show our appreciation for their help.

Novice A/V Retriever Field Trial Limited to 14 Dogs
14th December 2026 at Meols Hall, by kind permission of Mr N Aubrey

We’re very pleased to be able to share with members, our spaniel field trial schedule for this coming season!

We’re pleased to announce that alongside our usual trials, we’re adding two more…Both to be held on new ground.

We hope the addition of these extra trials help the club continue to grow, whilst ensuring our members receive great value for money.

1) £15 … is the annual membership for 2026.
2) 1st Feb 2026 … is the date it was due.
3) 3468 … is the last 4 digits of the ONLY NWCFTA account you should be paying it to.
4) £15 membership needs to be paid by bank transfer or standing order, you can’t pay online via our website.
5) YOUR FULL NAME needs to be used for the reference otherwise we can’t allocate payments.
6) If you have already registered and activated your online account, you DON’T need to renew the application online for 2026 (we will update it once you have paid your £15 membership).
7) If you haven’t registered and activated your online account at www.nwcfta.co.uk then we can’t get in touch with you.
8)Have we mentioned the bit about the £15?? 🙈

The 95th Any Variety Spaniel [Except Spaniel (Cocker)] Championship took place this week up in Scotland courtesy of The Earl of Dalhousie and we are delighted to say that our General Secretary Garret Marson came 2nd running our Spaniel Field Trial Secretary Charlotte Gill’s dog Sharmesvale’s Earthquake of Smallbrook.

Congratulations to everyone in the awards, especially Simon Dixon who won the Championship with his dog FTCh Dawsonlee Pepsi 🏆
