An England Athletics affiliated Club. Our main training sessions are Tuesday & Thursday meeting at 1845 at Gosport & Fareham Rugby Club. Everyone welcome.

Gosport Road Runners is an England Athletics affiliated club with qualified coaches & run leaders.
We compete in the Hampshire Road Race League and Southern Cross Country League.
We have members running 5 minute miles through to 15 minute miles - they are all awesome!
We support each other on long training runs. We all celebrate when someone hits a PB! We offer support & encouragement when someone is struggling.
We run together, improve together & support each other.
On Saturday we travelled to Eastleigh for some parkrun tourism & celebrated the 250th parkrun for our Head Coach and Sunday we had a social run around Portchester, followed by breakfast.
So competing or social running, joining a running club is a perfect way to do either or both.
If you’ve been thinking about joining but not sure, come along on a Tuesday or Thursday, just before 7pm and see how you get on, what have you got to lose? We are currently meeting at Kingfisher Caravan Park, parking & toilets onsite 💛

Not only have Gosport Road Runners donated over £20,000 to local charities and good causes this year, we have also purchased & installed two public access defibrillators. One on the toilet block at Monks Hill Carpark and another on the Wheelhouse in Salterns Road carpark.
Many thanks to Gosport and Lee on Solent Community First Responders for kindly providing club members with CPR & Defib training, which was very helpful and informative.
Fingers crossed we never need to put that training into practice 💛

April
Marathon month - Brighton, Vienna, Ibiza, Boston and of course London!
We also had a new beginners group start.
We ran “Out of Town” at the Bluebell Woods
We had our annual memorial run 💛
We celebrated donating over £20,000 to local good causes
We ran HRRL Salisbury 10 miles
Final Cross Country race at Alver Valley
Celebrated St Georges Day with a 5K run at Lakeside
Of course, we had parkrun tourism
All in addition to our hill training, interval sessions and group club runs

Our annual memorial run will take place next Tuesday 28th April at 7pm from Gosport & Fareham Rugby Club.
There is also a group taking a shorter route, starting from GAFIRS, who will meet up with the main group along the prom or you have the option to meet us at Bayside Cabin in order to pay your respects to our members no longer with us.

🏃‍♀️🏃Beginners Course 🏃‍♀️‍➡️🏃‍♂️‍➡️

The Couch to 5K Beginners course will start on Tuesday 7th April

Sessions will be at 7pm on a Tuesday & Thursday at Gosport & Fareham Rugby Club, Dolphin Crescent & will be led by England Athletics qualified Run Leaders.

The cost is £30 and this gives you membership to the Gosport Road Runners until end of March 2027, when membership fees will be due again.

Membership to the Club includes

Training sessions from G&F Rugby Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays (with use of the facilities)

Additional sessions such as hill training & trail running

Monthly Time Trials

Weekly (mostly) Interval sessions

Out of Town training runs in the summer months

Training plans for 10K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon

Social run events at Easter & Christmas

The chance to obtain various club awards

Annual awards night celebrating everyones achievements

And lots more

If you can already run 5K please come along and join us at the Clubhouse on a Tuesday (except the first Tuesday of the month) or Thursday, come and try us out before becoming a member.

February round up
We started the month by travelling overseas to the Isle of Wight for the HRRL Ryde 10.
Cross Country was cancelled due to the weather.
However, we continued the month with Langstone Half Marathon, tabbing at QECP, London Winter 10K & lots of parkrun, including a Royal Gathering at Great Salterns & celebration Lee-on-Silents 500th event, all in addition to our normal club training nights.
We also had GRR represented in Malta, Lanzarote & Australia. 💛
