DAY 109: CLAY PIGEON SHOOTING 🔫
Spent a very wet Sunday morning a doing some target practice 🎯
I decided to ignore the weather forecast (as usual), so t-shirt and jeans didn’t exactly hold up well once the puddles got involved… Phil kindly stepped in and kitted me out with a coat, ear defenders, gun, cartridges - everything I needed. Sadly, he couldn’t provide any common sense though.
Fun fact: this is only one of 2 sports so far where I’ve worn my glasses - which turned out to be a silly mistake, as they steamed up within about 30 seconds in the rain. I also quickly learned that trying to close one eye and look down a barrel in fogged-up specs is not ideal… so we tried the highly technical “glasses tape method”, which mostly resulted in me still peeking around them anyway 🫣
Safe to say my technique was 10% shooting, 90% wiping glasses and questioning my life choices.
Massive thanks to Phil and the shooting range for having me down for a taster session - and for Phil’s patience watching me miss my first 14 shots before finally hitting one 😅 Really enjoyed it and would 100% recommend giving it a go.
Disclaimer: clay pigeon shooting involves shooting synthetic discs, NOT pigeons 🐦 No birds were harmed in the completion of this sport.
