Discover the wonders of seaweed during four days of festival fun in St Davids, Pembrokeshire.

The festival is made possible thanks to players of the National Lottery - as it forms part of the ‘Unlocking the Power of Seaweed’ project - a partnership between WWF Cymru, SAMS, PEBL and us Câr-Y-Môr

Together we’re exploring how seaweed is a hidden hero for people and nature and could urgently help address the climate crisis. 

Wales Festival of Seaweed is a part of this unique project, and an opportunity for industry experts, conservationists, politicians, investors, educators, fishers, farmers, foodies and the wider community to come together to debate and discover the financial and environmental benefits that seaweed has to offer our communities and country as a whole.

Learn all about and discuss this amazing marine algae, in a very special corner of Wales where the purity of our waters and power of seaweed is already being harnessed by a range of local businesses.

Each Autumn, we get stranded Manx Shearwaters handed into us that need looking after before being safely released so they can continue on their migration journey.🌊 However, we are in need of funding to support the purchase of cardboard pet carriers to safely transport them to release sites - a donation of just £25 could buy us 7 carriers!

Yesterday we said goodbye to Dafydd, one of our interns, but before he finished his time here with us he released some of the fish we had in our Catch and Release Aquarium.

We wish Daf (and our fish!) the best for the future, and hope to see him again at Sea Trust.

Thank you to Merched y Môr, the incredible team of Pembrokeshire women, who rowed 3000 miles across the Atlantic! 🌊🚣‍♀️

The ladies' awesome effort raised £18,000 for each of their wonderful chosen charities, and we are so grateful to be one of them! 🫶

We can't thank you enough for the donation. As a small marine conservation charity that's always short of funding, a donation like this really goes a LONG way in enabling us to continue our local marine education, conservation, and research work!🐬

Our team loved hearing you speak about your adventure, and we haven't stopped talking about how dedicated, cool, and a little crazy you are for having completed such a huge undertaking. We all left extremely inspired! 🥹

We are absolutely thrilled and so grateful to the incredible Merched y Môr!! Thank you so so much! 🌊🐬🫶

From the vast Atlantic Ocean to making a real difference at home. 🌊❤️

We're delighted to hand over a cheque for £18,000, raised during our 3,000-mile Atlantic rowing challenge.

Completing the row was a life-changing experience, but knowing that the journey has helped raise these vital funds makes every mile worthwhile.

For a small charity like Sea Trust Wales, donations of this size can have a truly transformative impact. The funding will help support their vital work protecting and promoting marine wildlife, educating future generations, and inspiring people to value and care for our coastal environment. It also provides the confidence and resources needed to continue making a difference in our communities.

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported and encouraged us every step of the way.

Ocean sunfish (Mola Mola) have been the stars of the show this hot summer! 🐟

Sunfish are the World's heaviest bony fish, averaging 2 metres in length, and they seem to have been flocking to Pembrokeshire this month! 🌞

This one was sighted on a Strumble Head survey yesterday (12th August 2026), by our porpoise photo ID team. Let us know in the comments if you've spotted any along the coast! 🌊
