Spending 4 years at the mighty Terriers before a move to Bury then to Rotherham and Oxford.

Welcome to Andy Holdsworth, over 230 appearances for the mighty Terriers, from the juniors to first team. 6 years in the first team inclusive of the 2004 Play Off Final victory. 2008 Player of the year!

With over 400 appearances Andy also played for Oldham and Morecambe

Now first team coach at Sheffield Wednesday Andy constantly develops top class players

Golcar Ladies v Huddersfield Town Ladies

Golcar Utd are one of the few teams who offer a football pathway to all. With a fantastic ladies team who are progressing every season and a Girls Junior section that is flying.

Here’s how it all started ……

Founded in 2020 by Robyn and Chloe Peel, Golcar United Ladies FC has quickly established itself as one of the most ambitious and community-focused women’s football clubs in West Yorkshire. Based in the village of Golcar, Huddersfield, the club has developed a strong local following and provides opportunities for both youth and adult female players to thrive in the game.

The team’s success came early, earning promotion to Division Two after just one season. Following an impressive start to their second campaign, the COVID-19 pandemic brought football activities to an unexpected halt.

After the pandemic, Nathan Martin took over as Head Coach and continued the club’s remarkable progression through the Women’s West Riding League. Under his leadership, Golcar United Ladies FC climbed from Division Two to the Premier Division, the highest tier of the competition. The club also achieved another historic milestone by qualifying for the Women’s FA Cup for the first time in the women’s section’s history.

Today, Golcar United Ladies FC continues to build on its success, combining competitive ambition with a strong commitment to developing women’s football within the local community

Starting his career at the mighty Terriers as Andy Booths boot boy the progressing through the ranks to the first team.

From the terriers he went on to Hong Kong to play for Happy Valley before spells at Halifax. Now lining up for Ellandians in the Yorkshire Amateur and still lifting trophies

Also a true legend of the Cricketing leagues with Elland and Blackley. Still playing week in week out
