Norton Village Hall Charity Collection in aid of The Pied Piper Appeal - Thursday 19th December, 17:00 to 21:30”

The Village Hall Committee are pleased to announce that they will be running their final social of the year on Thursday 19th December. They are asking for members of the community to drop off any unwanted toys, children’s games or books that are in good condition, which will be donated to the Pied Piper Appeal. The charity will then make sure that these gifts find their way to the sick and disabled children of Gloucestershire over the festive period.

Complimentary mince pies and mulled w**e will also be available, for all those attending - on a first come first served basis!

Local event providers British Polo Gin will also be running a bar and cooking their delicious sourdough pizzas over the course of the evening, with proceeds going towards the upkeep of the Village Hall. You will of course welcome to enjoy your pizzas in the hall or take them home with you to enjoy!

See you there and Happy Christmas”

PIZZA, BAR AND QUIZ FUNDRAISER FOR NORTON VILLAGE HALL THURSDAY 9TH MAY

Fundraiser for Norton Village Hall: Quiz Night with Sourdough Pizza and Pop-up Bar from British Polo Gin.

Thursday 9th May - pizzas and bar from 15:30 and quiz across the event!

Following the success of the quiz night on 4th April, we are delighted to announce that the Norton Village Hall Committee will be holding another quiz and pizza event on Thursday 9th May, to raise funds for the upkeep of the hall. Congratulations to Brad Smith and Austin Eastwood for winning their respective inaugural quizzes.

Please redeem your £20 food and drink voucher at the quiz on 9th May ☺️

Our principal aim for the evening is inclusivity. To this end, there will be two separate quizzes running concurrently, one for adults and one for children, so please do bring your children straight from school! Similarly, we will run without a quiz master so you can fill in your quiz sheet at a time to suit you between 15:30 and 21:00.

British Polo Gin will be cooking up their delicious 11-inch hand stretched artisan pizzas from 15:30 to approximately 20:15. The pizzas can be enjoyed before, during and after the quiz or simply ordered as a takeaway and will be priced between £10 and £12. There will also be a full-service bar featuring draft l***r, organic w**es, organic G&Ts and soft drinks from 15:30 to 21:00. We want to establish this quiz and pop-up food offering as a regular event to raise funds for the Village Hall - please come down and check it out!

You are more than welcome to arrive on the day, but it would be helpful if you could please register your interest in advance. For further information, or to register your interest, please contact Rich at British Polo Gin on [email protected] / 01452730770.

Hi All,

Polo Gin are super excited to have Guinness on tap this Saturday in the village hall for the Guinness Six Nations screenings. The fully stocked bar will be open from 12:30, with all three games being shown in the hall and committee room - much more fun than watching the six nations games at home.

There's always such a great atmosphere and newcomers are of course welcome!

As ever, please send over a message if you have any questions!

Norton Village Hall – a statement from the Management Committee

On 1st July, an incident occurred in which a lump of mortar fell from the main roof of the Village Hall. Fortunately no one was hurt. However on further inspection with a roofing company, the roof structure was found to be faulty. After this discovery, the Hall was closed as a precautionary measure while a structural engineer was appointed. Following multiple inspections, and discussions with several structural engineers, it's clear that after 47 years the roof has reached the end of its serviceable life. Consequently a significant part of the Village Hall roof will need to be replaced. Therefore the main hall and committee room will remain closed until further notice, fortunately the changing rooms have a somewhat separate roof and the structural engineers are satisfied that these can still be used.

The Management Committee is now investigating the cost involved in repairing the roof, possible alternative options for the Village Hall, and sources of funding. We appreciate that this will have a significant impact on the community and we will endeavour to resolve the matter as soon as possible. In due course we intend to hold a village meeting to discuss our findings and obtain feedback from residents on our ideas and suggestions of how to move forward.
