🏆❤️ Team Monkscroft – Our Trust Recognition Awards! ❤️🏆

Last Friday, we celebrated the wonderful achievements of colleagues across the Trust at the OSJCT Trust Recognition Awards, and we couldn’t be prouder of our Monkscroft team! 🥰

A huge congratulations to:

🌟 Carol and Marissa – celebrating an incredible 25 years of long service!

👏 Hasharni and Olisa – congratulations on completing your QCF qualifications!

💙 Lynne, Nelson, Liz and Sam – celebrating an amazing 20 years of long service!

🏥 Monika – our very own nurse finalist for Nurse of the Year! What a fantastic achievement!

🌸 Judith – achieving Gold for Best Individual Garden in Trust in Bloom! A fantastic achievement and something we’re all incredibly proud of.

Although not everyone from our team could be there on the day, every single person at Monkscroft plays a part in making our home such a special place. From the care and kindness shown to our residents, to the dedication and teamwork behind the scenes, we all contribute to what makes Monkscroft so special. ❤️

We may not all have been in the room, but we’re all winners at Team Monkscroft! 🏆✨

Exciting Improvements at Monkscroft! 🛠️

We’re delighted to be making some improvements to our reception area! 🏡✨ We’re looking forward to creating an even more welcoming space for our residents, visitors and families.

There may be a little disruption while the work takes place, and we thank you for your patience and understanding.

🎖️Army Cadets Visit Monkscroft 🇬🇧

We had a wonderful morning at Monkscroft welcoming our local Army Cadets! ❤️

Our residents enjoyed watching the cadets perform their mini parade, before everyone had the chance to sit together, chat and get to know one another.

It was particularly special for our veterans to meet the cadets, bringing together generations with a shared connection to military life. 🇬🇧 It was lovely to see everyone exchanging stories, asking questions and learning from one another.

These special visits bring so much to our home, creating opportunities for connection, conversation and meaningful memories. 🥰

A huge thank you to all the cadets and their leaders for spending the morning with us. We loved having you here and look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

A wonderful day on the water! 💙🌞

We had a fantastic day out with The Willow Trust on a boat trip along the beautiful Gloucester–Sharpness Canal. The weather was gorgeous, the scenery was stunning, and we enjoyed a lovely picnic together.

There was even the chance for some of our residents to have a go at steering the boat themselves! A brilliant experience that brought plenty of smiles and made the day even more memorable.

A huge thank you to all the wonderful Willow Trust volunteers for their warm hospitality, kindness and for making us feel so welcome. We had such a relaxing, enjoyable day and made some lovely memories together! 💙

🌍❤️ Celebrating Multi-Culture Week at Monkscroft! ❤️🌍

This week, we’ve been celebrating the many cultures, backgrounds and traditions that make our Monkscroft family so special. From Sri Lanka, India and Poland to the Philippines, Latvia, Nigeria, St Lucia and Jamaica, we’re proud of the diversity within our home. 🌎✨

Multi-Culture Week has been about learning from one another, celebrating our differences and bringing our team closer together. Some of our team dressed in traditional attire, and today we came together to share an incredible feast of homemade food from around the world! 🍽️

From Polish pierogi, Indian and Sri Lankan dishes, Jamaican jerk chicken and goat curry to Chinese pork and fried rice and Filipino noodles, there was an amazing variety of flavours to enjoy! 😋

A huge thank you to everyone who cooked, shared their culture and helped make this week so special. ❤️

🐾 Meet Oliver: Our newest member of the Monkscroft team! 🐾

If you’ve visited Monkscroft recently, you may have already met our very special four-legged friend, Oliver. 🐶

Oliver is a 5-month-old Goldador who comes in with us most days and spends his time keeping the admin team company, helping to greet our visitors and, most importantly, spreading a little happiness wherever he goes.

Oliver has the sweetest personality and already has a wonderful way of making people smile. He occasionally pops around the households to say hello to our residents, but as he’s still young and very much in training, he isn’t quite ready to spend lots of time with them just yet.

We’re hoping that one day Oliver might become a therapy dog, giving him the opportunity to bring comfort, companionship and happiness to even more people at Monkscroft. 🐾

Until then, we’ll enjoy watching him grow, learn and become part of our Monkscroft family. And even his little visits around the households can bring a smile, spark a happy memory or simply make someone’s day that little bit brighter.

For now, he’s busy carrying out his very important duties of greeting visitors, supervising the admin team and generally making sure everyone has a little more joy in their day! 😂🐶

Today, we’re celebrating a fantastic milestone as we recognise Richard’s 10 years of dedicated service at Monkscroft!

As a valued member of our nursing team, Richard has spent the last decade providing care, compassion and support to our residents, making a difference to their lives every single day.

Reaching 10 years is a wonderful achievement, and we’re incredibly grateful for the commitment, kindness and dedication Richard brings to Monkscroft.

Today we’re celebrating our wonderful Carol, who has been part of the OSJCT family for an incredible 25 years! 💙

Carol is such a lovely and caring member of our team, always going above and beyond to make sure our residents feel valued, supported and cared for. Her kindness, dedication and genuine care for the people we look after is something truly special. 🥰

25 years is an amazing milestone, and we’re so grateful for everything Carol has given to our residents, their families and her colleagues over the years.

🍐🌱 A lovely afternoon in the allotment! 🍅

Hayden, one of our avid gardeners, enjoyed helping to harvest some delicious pears from our tree, as well as picking a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables from the allotment, all thanks to our fantastic volunteer Mike. 💚

While we were there, our residents also had the chance to taste all the different varieties of tomatoes Mike had grown… and they certainly enjoyed sampling them! 🍅😋

A big thank you to Mike for all his hard work growing such a fantastic selection of produce for our residents and team to enjoy. 🌿🍐

🥁🎶 A morning full of music, movement and smiles!

We had a wonderful time enjoying a fantastic steel pan music session with JB Steelpan Music. Our residents loved getting involved, dancing along to the lively rhythms, shaking their instruments and singing along to some familiar favourites.

Music has such a special way of bringing people together, sparking memories and creating moments of joy. It was lovely to see so many smiles, hear the laughter and watch everyone join in.

A big thank you to Julie for bringing such energy and happiness into our home! 💙🎵
