🍐🌱 A lovely afternoon in the allotment! 🍅

Hayden, one of our avid gardeners, enjoyed helping to harvest some delicious pears from our tree, as well as picking a wonderful selection of fresh vegetables from the allotment, all thanks to our fantastic volunteer Mike. 💚

While we were there, our residents also had the chance to taste all the different varieties of tomatoes Mike had grown… and they certainly enjoyed sampling them! 🍅😋

A big thank you to Mike for all his hard work growing such a fantastic selection of produce for our residents and team to enjoy. 🌿🍐

A Little Pampering Goes a Long Way! 💅

Staff wellbeing took a rather glamorous turn when little Ada, our Administrator Emma’s daughter, came in to pamper the team! 💕

With makeovers, painted nails and plenty of giggles, Ada certainly knows how to look after her team. She’s such a wonderful little helper and has become a much-loved part of the Monkscroft family. 🥰

We think Head of Staff Pampering might just be the perfect job title for her!

☀️🍦 Making the most of the sunshine! 🌸

We’ve been making the most of the beautiful summer weather with some lovely trips out in our local community. From enjoying a leisurely stroll in the park and treating ourselves to an ice cream, to popping into our local café for a coffee and spending time watching the world go by ☕️.

It’s the simple things that make such lovely memories; A little fresh air, good company, a tasty treat and plenty of time for a chat and a laugh. ❤️

Today we are celebrating a very special milestone as our wonderful Deputy Manager, Lynne, receives her 20 Years’ Service Award! 🎉💙

Lynne first joined the Trust in 1999 as a Carer and, through her dedication, compassion and commitment, has progressed through a number of roles including Care Leader, Head of Dementia, and now Deputy Manager.

For over two decades, Lynne has made an incredible difference to the lives of our residents, their families and her colleagues. Her knowledge, leadership and unwavering passion for delivering outstanding care have helped shape Monkscroft into the caring community it is today.

Thank you, Lynne, for your loyalty, hard work and the positive impact you’ve had over the years. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of the Monkscroft family.

🥁🎶 A morning full of music, movement and smiles!

We had a wonderful time enjoying a fantastic steel pan music session with JB Steelpan Music. Our residents loved getting involved, dancing along to the lively rhythms, shaking their instruments and singing along to some familiar favourites.

Music has such a special way of bringing people together, sparking memories and creating moments of joy. It was lovely to see so many smiles, hear the laughter and watch everyone join in.

A big thank you to Julie for bringing such energy and happiness into our home! 💙🎵

🎨📚 A lovely morning with St Thomas More School

We were delighted to welcome pupils from St Thomas More School to our home this morning. The children spent time with our residents, creating wonderful portrait drawings and sharing stories as they read to them.

It was a beautiful opportunity for different generations to come together, chat, laugh and enjoy each other’s company. Our residents loved seeing the children’s creativity and enthusiasm, and the portraits will be treasured keepsakes. 💙

A huge thank you to all the pupils and staff for visiting us. We wish them the very best of luck heading to senior school this September. We hope you have an amazing next chapter! 🌟

🌟 Judith’s Story Takes Centre Stage 🌟

We are incredibly proud of our resident Judith Green, who is the cover star and guest writer for the latest edition of OSJCT’s Trust in Care magazine.

In her inspiring article, Judith shares her experiences of moving into care, reflecting on the realities, the highs and the lows, and how she has embraced new opportunities since joining us.

During her time at Monkscroft, Judith has achieved so much. From founding our Poetry Club to sharing her work at the Cheltenham Literature Festival, she continues to inspire others with her creativity, courage, and passion.

Judith’s story is a wonderful reminder that life continues to bring new experiences, friendships, and achievements at every stage.

We are so proud of Judith for sharing her journey and helping others understand the true experiences of moving into care. ❤️

This maximum score was awarded based on reviews from our residents and their families and friends, and we are truly grateful to everyone who took the time to share their experiences.

This achievement is a testament to the dedication, warmth, and compassion of our amazing team, who work tirelessly every day to make Monkscroft a welcoming and caring home for our residents.

We thought this one deserved a post of its own! 🤠 🧽💦

Our Soak the Sheriff challenge was a huge hit at our Wild West Summer Fayre, bringing lots of laughter to residents, families and staff alike!

A big thank you to everyone who took part, especially our brave sheriffs who volunteered to get soaked. Every £1 throw helped raise money for our Residents’ Amenities Fund.
